Gift link. A small unelected, secretive crew now has free access to sensitive private data of everyone. And Musk is already publicly targeting family members of judges who rule against the administration. If this isn’t ringing alarm bells, I don’t know what would. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/o...

World Wonders What Trump Has On United States That’s Forcing Nation To Keep Him In Power theonion.com/world-w...

today in breaking laws no matter how obscure, ladies and gentlemen, the Goldwater-Nichols Act

Trump and Vance are not our allies. They're Putin's allies.

There won’t be another election in the US. Who didn’t believe that a week ago, should do it now.

To the @GOP senators and Congressmen who claim to support Ukraine, you do have some power… if you’re unwilling to exercise it then don’t pretend to care about your country more than your political career:

Here's one of the warnings I gave in an article before the US election. It's devastating to see it all happening. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

"The Fuhrer is himself the bearer of the collective will of the people. In his will the will of the people is realized.” - Ernst Rudolf Huber, Constitutional Law of the Third Reich

Let us not despair but act. That's my No.1 takeaway from #MSC2025, yesterday’s Paris summit, & today's US-Russia talks in Riyadh.  Enough of the 'wake-up calls', ‘unity’ & the 'hour of Europe', those Europeans who get it must embrace the 'Nike Strategy' & #JustDoIt 🧵

»All the worst came true…« And it will continue to do so if we don’t get our act together.

This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights. He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.

‼️Confirmed: Macron will hold a crisis meeting tomorrow afternoon in Paris with the leaders of Germany, U.K., Italy, Poland, Spain, Netherlands and Denmark as well as Costa, von der Layen and Rutte, to discuss the future of security in Europe

Fact check: nearly 70 percent of US money for Ukraine actually went to US defense industry to replenish the stocks of OLD stuff that went to Ukraine to use. Much of which we would have paid to destroy as their lifespan expired.

Europe doesn't need any more wake-up calls. It's awake. It's just very comfortable in its warm bed and procrastinating on getting up in the hopes something turns up to magically take care of all the chores it knows it should be getting on with.

I fully agree. We need a discussion about European nuclear weapons. And yes, sadly that will likely mean the end of the nonproliferation regime, but that is the consequence of American withdrawal.

🇺🇦Zelenskyy pleads with Europeans to finally put aside the petty nationalism and unite to put themselves in charge of their own future. "Some in Europe might be frustrated with 🇪🇺Brussels. But let’s be clear: If not Brussels, then Moscow. It’s your decision. That’s geopolitics. That’s history."

Once again I am leaving the Munich Security Conference in a low mood. Amongst all the noise, the US signalled their plans for Europe, so things are becoming clearer. But things are clearly not good. This is what we now know, and what we have to do about it:🧵1/17

Europe urgently needs its own plan of action concerning Ukraine and our security, or else other global players will decide about our future. Not necessarily in line with our own interest. This plan must be prepared now. There’s no time to lose.

There are now few pleasant ways out of this. American politicians need to find one of those ways.

A Telegraph journalist does not accept that judges make decisions according to the law, rather than the imbecilic whims of uninformed newspaper proprietors.

He could have stopped all of this in January 2021. All of it.

Or maybe everyone who jumped down his throat at the time had an uncanny knack to dismiss what they did not want to hear?

While I agree with those Americans who now in a mantra tell themselves, "don't preemptively give up", I still would like to caution against optimism. There is no going back. In 2 to 4 years, a great deal will be broken, and a fair bit will be irreversible.

This period under Musk/Trump feels like early February in 2020—when a terrible thing was happening with breakneck speed, and the people paying close attention were hair-on-fire about it while the rest of the country carried on as normal.

Der Weg in den autoritären Staat ist gesäumt mit Leuten, die Dir raten, es jetzt aber bitte nicht zu übertreiben.

2025, every day.
