Meta's at it again with poor privacy practices: tracking your mobile browsing: 1. Facebook/Instagram apps listen for specific traffic. 2. When visiting sites with Meta Pixel (over 5.8 million), tracking continues, even in Incognito.

Final reminder for our full-stack developer position! You have 12 hours left to apply. I'll be reviewing all applications in the coming week. See Tweet on X: x.com/adriaandotc...

Hey developer, You have 1 day and 12 hours remaining to apply! With just over 20 applicants, your chances are high. Check out this tweet on X to learn how to apply now. x.com/adriaandotc... (can't upload large videos on BlueSky)

Non-technical people can now become hackers too. Consider the hack below:

Last year, I tweeted a part-time job offer and received 200-300 direct messages in response. There were so many that I couldn't reply to them all. With my new job offer, I want to thank everyone for their messages and patience, and inform them about the new opportunity and the application process.

I almost always use a unique email address for every service. This is incredibly helpful for discovering if companies sell your data. G2 seems to do this. I'm getting spammed by a random person who knows my G2 account email. Thanks, G2.

Coding with OpenAI's Codex is quite enjoyable. While it's not perfect yet, I love that it can create pull requests directly in GitHub. It's great for tasks you want to try out without much oversight. If the output isn't satisfactory, you can provide feedback in the form of comments on the diff.

We doubled our Elasticsearch cluster, so it can take much more traffic than we have today. Searches open faster, pages load quicker, and the system can process 10 000 pageviews per second with ease.

Look what I found: my resignation letter that I handed in to stop working for a boss. One year later, I started Simple Analytics. 🇳🇱 Translation in next post.

Want to avoid sending emails with "undefined" or "[object Object]"? Simply review the email content and trigger an error if these texts are detected.

Goodbye, phone. See you in a month.

There are growing signs that smartphones harm health, so I'm turning mine off for a month, starting tomorrow. I'll still use my cellular watch to receive alerts about any infrastructure issues. Any tips for surviving this?

Most human thing in Apple updates I have ever seen. "Screen Time App Limits persist even after a child uninstalls and reinstalls an app" I was that kind of child.

It seems increasingly common these days; I often hear people expressing how challenging it is to make or find new friends. Yet, almost paradoxically, in the very next breath, they confess an aversion to engaging in conversations with strangers. Do the work needed to get to know others.

Apparently, some AI businesses crawl the web using malware installed on millions of devices that you and I might use.

Today I learned that people are manipulating Google Lighthouse scores to make their websites appear to perform better. Google Lighthouse is an open-source tool that provides audits for performance, accessibility, progressive web apps, SEO, and more, offering insights into improving web page quality

Who can help me build an image person swap API? AI is great at creating cool images but struggles with resemblance. This picture isn't clear enough. People shouldn't have to guess who's in it; they should know.

Somebody posted on Reddit that finally sounded human: “Anyone else feel like the internet is just… broken now?” Turns out it was a bot. Promoting AI-illustrated books. By pretending to be sad about bots. To sell AI slop. To humans. We’re so fucked. posthuman.blog/this-reddit...

I don't believe in "Marketing Week," where tech founders focus on their product but force themselves into marketing for just one week. Get yourself a marketing founder. Otherwise, you'll grow slowly and never develop a passion for marketing. Focus on what you're good at.

How to create the best job ad for a full stack developer? 1. Send an email to 3,700 users with an "undefined" variable. 2. Apologize in a follow-up email and ask developers if they can do it better. Opening for a development role soon!

Added this banner as a response to uncertainties in the United States. No tariffs at Simple Analytics! Not even in 3 months.

If Elon Musk was born in 1300 🚀

In the last three months, we added $5k. While this is partially due to the USD/EUR conversion, a significant portion is also from real growth. Thanks to Mr. President, we gained considerable traction by being recognized as European and trustworthy.

I was fortunate to be invited to an interview with James Daly. He's one of the best interviewers I know! I love his format of taking snippets of videos and writing them out in a format that's incredibly enjoyable to read.

Any iZotope RX or Adobe Audition users here who know how to use the de-clip module? I have an audio recording that was captured at the wrong level (too loud) and would love to have it (somewhat) fixed.

This is how we prioritize everything at Simple Analytics: We create a matrix with two axes: effort and importance (or impact). We rank all issues, bugs, and features on this matrix, draw a green diagonal line, and move it left as tasks are completed until nothing remains.

Couples shouldn't get dogs. Dogs serve a purpose for singles, but couples don't need them. Find love in your partner instead.

Advertising isn’t just noise, it’s pollution. Tax it like we tax pollution. Reward ethical platforms. Discourage manipulation. We did it for plastic bags. Why not ads?

Thank you, Mr. President. We're almost there; keep those tariffs high.

Yesterday, I geeked out with my brother and tried out WLED with addressable LEDs, which you can customize to any color individually. Putting it in my yellow bedroom behind a decorative strip near the ceiling. Used a board by QuinLED, and BTF-Lighting LEDs. Should it blink with every new customer?
