Nurse Aqua is taking excellent care of me while Iā€™m recovering from surgery, but she might have fallen asleep on the job. šŸ¤£šŸ„¹šŸ’™

A photograph to let you breathe and slowdown during this chaotic timeline. I hope this helps. <3

One of the most terrifying, brilliantly written, balanced and relevant books I have ever read. Iā€™ve always thought Rees was an exceptional historian, this reaffirms that view.

Youā€™re not invisible. I see you. šŸ’™

Protesting is a constitutional right protected by the First Amendmentā€”speech, assembly, and petitioning the government. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

My third photo essay for Substack is officially finished and will be posted soon. I hope you guys can check it out. The best way to fight fascism is to educate one another by any means necessary. āœšŸ½ Titled: "Rights for Some, Not for Us: The MAGA attack on disabled individuals."

Post-surgery ritual: Eating Ben & Jerryā€™s because they actually stand for social justice and put their money where their mouth is. Good ice cream & good moral compass. šŸØ Support companies that value your humanity. šŸ’™ #benandjerry's

Hey everyone, itā€™s Adrianoā€™s wife, Rachel. Heā€™s headed into surgery soon and Iā€™ve been tasked with keeping you updated. Hereā€™s a photo of him in prep taken by me. Look at that composition.

White supremacy would rather burn everything to the ground than confront and learn from the heinous history it glorifies. Make no mistake MAGA = Make America White Again. Literally dismantling decades of progress for civil rights. Itā€™s appalling.

Aqua is keeping a close eye on me ahead of my surgery tomorrowā€”she knows somethingā€™s off. My mom arrived safely, and Iā€™m so lucky to have family looking after me. Iā€™ll be pretty absent tomorrow, surgery will take about 4-6 hours. Fight the good fight. Appreciate you all. ā¤ļø

Photography frees my soul in this hellscape of a timeline.

If youā€™re in Chicago, please come out and use your voice. Your voice matters. Iā€™ll be there! šŸ“øāœŠšŸ¾šŸ’™

Citizens United will be the downfall of America, it let the oligarchs into the White House with open arms.

Thereā€™s something so pure about seeing kids just being kidsā€”unbothered, free, and in their own world. In times like these, moments like this feel like an escape from the chaos, unless you're the mom getting hit with a snowball lol ā˜ƒļø This print is available now. Link in bio. āœØ

They move fast when it comes to protecting corporate interests via Executive Orders, but when kids are getting shot in schools? Crickets. šŸ¦— The priorities are clear, and itā€™s not your family.

Normalize taking a self portrait of yourself. We are all beautiful inside & out.

I can't express how happy this photograph makes me, just kids being kids and having fun with their mom. And to be clear, she was throwing snow balls at them first lol

Just published my second photo essayā€”and someone already subscribed annually to support my work! Feeling so grateful for this communityā€™s belief in me. As a disabled social justice photographer, your support allows me to keep doing this work. I am forever grateful. Even small step moves mountains.

Officially made my second photo essay! šŸŽ‰ ā€œThe Streets Speak, You'd Better Listen.ā€ If social justice, BIPOC stories and representation are significant to you, I think this will resonate with you. Thanks you! šŸ’™ #socialjustice #substack #chicago #photography #photoessay #storytelling #southside

I'll be posting my next photo essay later this afternoon on Substack, Titled: "The Streets Talk, You'd Better Listen." āœšŸ½ šŸ“– šŸ“ø

A couple of gang members questioned what I was doing in the neighborhoodā€”asked if I was police. I just smiled and said, ā€˜Nah, Iā€™m a social justice photographer.ā€™ Showed them my work, and they loved it. If you respect the neighborhood, the neighborhood will respect you back.

Fear is a construct of hate. Fear is a construct of hate. Fear is a construct of hate. Fear is a construct of hate. I repeat... Fear is a construct of hate.

This is why I love documenting the neighborhoods. There is just so much happening here and so little simultaneously. lol

Hey everyone, I just created my first photo essayā€”check it out! Itā€™s called ā€˜The Wolves of Division Are Still Here,ā€™ and itā€™s all about documenting the streets of Chicago through my lens. #photojournalism #chicago #socialjustice #photoessay

Trumpā€™s playbook feels straight out of Machiavelliā€™s The Princeā€”prioritizing power, using fear, and embracing chaos to keep people off balance. Itā€™s all about control, not morality. Iā€™m telling you, read The Prince. Itā€™s wild how insightful it is about controlling the masses through fear.
