I have been inspired to make this year's fair entries political statements. First on my list: Embroidery of Bishop Budder at the pulpit surrounded by flowers, but I plan to enter in as many categories as I can manage. Photography is my main medium, but I did want to learn new handicrafts in 2025.

I love the portability of a 14 inch laptop, but I hate that I'm limited in sticker space. I keep finding more and more cool artists and buying more stickers, but have no space to place them. Holding out on placing any more until I get a pride flag and cicada.

Temporary mini gallery until the thrift gods bless me with finding frames for all of them. Check out @fossilforager.bsky.social to get your own prints!

Needed some whimsy today, so made a tutu and wings for Anne's urn. I was inspired by the memory of when I put a Build a Bear tutu on her years ago.

Weekends are for pestering your little kitty brother. This is Toot. Formal name is Tolouse. Little Prince of my mom's house, conqueror of fountain soda cups, and biter of fingers. #catpics

💜 Queen of purple today 💜 Friendly reminder that it's not too late to start masking. *Not pictured are my purple shoes and coat.

Sad I that I missed the little bird that visited my door this morning, though their little tracks did bring a smile to my face.

The Hobbit wreath is finally finished!

Time to knock out a few projects that have been haunting my craft supply stash. First project: Hobbit door wreath.

Korok cosplay progress! Air dry clay is fickle. It kept curling up and cracking after each coat of paint. I'm not satisfied with the opening for me to see through. Any tips are welcome! Taking a break from the mask for a bit. Next on to figuring out a hooded cape and dying fabric. #korok #cosplay

#hope and #manifesting through the chaos. I am also taking action in the little ways that I can, but in the overwhelming and dark moments it's nice to look at and add to my list of things I love and/or enjoy that I want to experience again.

I think this photo I snapped during Fourth of July celebrations in 2015 fits the #light theme for the #BlueSkyArtShow

If you have a cat, tell them that their Aunty Autumn loves them very much and give them their preferred form of affection for me, please 💕 Signed, A sad 30 year-old living a town where none of the affordable rentals allow pets.

Fungi spotted on my walk last weekend in southeast Missouri. It's amazing what you can find when you follow the creek bank instead of the paved trail.

"Wow, it's after 9?!?" Hyper-focus strikes again. Time flies when scouring hospital system websites for their financial assistance applications. I'm not really sure how this side-quest came to be. The last thing I remember before this was messing with a new photo-editing program.

Did you know? Most US hospital systems are "non-profit" and are required to have some sort of financial assistance. Programs are usually based on income, but apply even if you think you make too much. Applications are typically found online under patient assistance or with the billing information.

Amazon removed the open ended option to share why you are deleting your account. It was there last week when I deleted my primary account. I remembered that I had another account today and was excited to grace them with more feedback. The options provided do not come close to covering my why.

I'm not teaching my grad course 'Civil Resistance: How It Works' this semester. But here is an abridged version of the course schedule, readings, and films I used the last time I taught it (in 2022). Just in case it's useful. drive.google.com/file/d/14RRJ...

I need to be able to have conversations speaking up, calling out, and discussing hard things. Especially in these times. I tend to find myself getting overwhelmed and usually back down without being actually heard or wind up swearing. Does anyone know of resources out there that can help?

First peeks at my very first cosplay creation. I'm not sure if it will make the final cut for a Con, but it has been a nice distraction from the unrelenting spiraling thoughts about work and the world.

Non traditional/online college students, I'm curious: Where's the strangest place you've worked on school work? I'll go first: I've used the storage room on my lunch breaks at work many times. We have a break room, but it's noisy and distracting.

I took a last minute detour on my way home from work today and I'm so glad I did! There wasn't a lot of daylight left and I wasn't very prepared for the freezing temps, but it was worth it! The Mississippi River looked so cool with all of the ice floating!
