Toxicologist here! This will improve the health of zero Americans. Current synthetic food dyes are not causing health problems, and are often times used because they are actually safer than natural food dyes. Reminder that guns are the #1 cause of death of children but we are going to ban food dyes.

What a great initiative. It's so important to hear the stories of silenced scientists. 🧪 ⚛️ 👩‍🔬

International students contribute $44 billion to the US economy annually, creating 1 job for every 4 students enrolled. Higher ed is America’s 10th largest export industry. A finance professor explores how their impact reaches beyond big cities to small towns like Mankato, MN. buff.ly/kcGr5b1

Why color eggs this weekend when you can color resistance art? 🎨✨🇺🇸 🔗 www.etsy.com/listing/1847...

It's really disheartening to look up information about how to format a coloring book, and seeing so many tutorials on how to make crappy, low content AI coloring books to spam on Amazon #noAIart

Mahmoud was not charged with anything, other than "thought crime"! This is a terrible precedent, and can't be allowed to happen

We're tracking the number of international students whose visas have been revoked by the State Department. We've confirmed over 300 so far and there are likely many more. Get in touch if you've got information you'd like to share with us www.insidehighered.com/news/global/...

A sneak peak at some trapped ions in a vacuum chamber, that turned out so well! ⚛️ #quantumcomputet For the Quantum Computing Coloring Book!

Science memes—funny and clever, but are they also #SciComm? For an assignment, we created a short survey to explore how people interpret science memes. It’s quick, fun, and anonymous! Plus, you get to check out some memes along the way. Take the survey here: forms.gle/aRhTttUfY24R... 🧪

I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:

I literally just picked up physical copies of this at #APSSummit25, and so many others were picking them up!

If you have to buy voters for a candidate, how good is that candidate?

At Musk's rally in Green Bay, he is introduced a new "buy your vote" scheme. "Musk said he would also pay supporters $20 for every voter they recruit over the next two days."

NIH F-series fellowships primarily support early-career researchers—pre- and post-doctoral trainees. Cuts to these awards disproportionately impact the next generation of scientists, disrupting the future of research at its foundation.

A federal judge in Massachusetts has temporarily barred the deportation of Turkish Tufts University student Rumeysa Ozturk, who voiced support for Palestinians in Israel’s war on Gaza and was detained by US immigration officials aje.io/n423z4

Every winter, I think "I can't wait to drink so much tea now that it's cold!" And then I forget about tea, and then it becomes spring and I think "darn, it's too warm for tea now"

If you don't want to see this horrible garbage happen in every future high-stakes election, make sure it demonstrably fails in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race by helping elect Susan Crawford

Awesome talk given by Daniela Monaldi on her upcoming book on the women in the history of quantum physics at #APSSummit25

I'm disappointed that #APS doesn't have a "Celebrate Diversity" ribbon for our badges that other conferences have had 😕 #APSSummit25

Every person is just a person, with dreams and friends and family. Over 400 people in Gaza were killed over the last day from Israeli airstrikes. This quote is from a Jenin resistance fighter after being asked what he'd be doing if he could lead a normal life. #palestine

Over 200 Palestinians have died in the last few hours from these brutal attacks

Excited to hand out some stickers at #APSSummit25 for our upcoming #Quantum Computing Coloring Book! ⚛️ 🧪 @scientistsarah.bsky.social

I illustrated this feature of Dr. Zach Labe's story. He was recently fired from #NOAA because of the #EOs. This is the life-saving science being destroyed. More stories at: silencedsciencestories.com #scicomm #sciart #theycantfirescience #silencedsciencestories #academicsky #zachlabe

einstein sent this to curie in 1911 when she was being harassed by tabloids. it contains everything you’d want in such a letter: (1) your haters are trash (2) you’re a baller, a true queen (3) i have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in planck’s radiation field 🧪⚛️

In the search for the elusive sterile neutrino, UW–Madison and NOvA scientists *still* didn't find any — but their work puts the tightest constraints on parameter space to date for where sterile neutrinos could be found. #Physics #Neutrinos www.physics.wisc.edu/2025/02/26/n...
