Someone made a Lego model of the famous medieval “egg horse” and lol this is the best type of reception (L'estoire de Merlin, France ca. 1316, @britishlibrary.bsky.social Add. 10292, fol. 213r) 🥚 🐴 #equova

Thank you to Washington’s AG Nick Brown for suing Trump on federal spending, Musk, gender-affirming care, and birthright citizenship. www.axios.com/local/seattl...

Big, growing crowd just west of the U.S. Capitol protesting Trump, Musk and DOGE on President’s Day. “Hey Congress, grow a spine,” they shout, gathering for a rally around the reflecting pool.

I'm probably pissing in the wind, but I have little time off because of the holiday, so I'd like to offer a thread arguing against an ugly, ugly habit rising on Bluesky: Screenshots of articles without links. Stop it. Just fucking stop it.

Now you, too, can see/hear me read racy poetry at work @bodleianlibraries.bsky.social 🤭 Thanks so much to @liber-ray.bsky.social for organising and @hlaehnemann.bsky.social for recording and posting to YouTube -- complete with shelfmarks and transcripts!

A #nuntastic document! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Saw this launch today and it looks absolutely fantastic - great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about the Welsh Merlin material. (Notes are only yn Gymraeg for now, but readers of other languages can avail themselves of google translate.)

Fellas is it gay to receive homage from your vassals? Buncha guys kneeling in front of you giving you rings and kissing your hands???

I really just cannot brag enough about how good this new @indivisible.org resource on next week's congressional recess is. If you're looking for practical ideas about what you can actually do in this moment, check it out: indivisi.org/muskorus

“If no lawyer within earshot of the President is willing to give him that advice, then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.” Damn. static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics...

“They hate truth as an enemy, and love lies like favourite brothers. They look askance at the just poor as though they were snakes; and, showing no regard for shame, they respect the wicked rich as though they were angels from heaven.” Gildas, On the Ruin of Britain, c. 540 (Winterbottom 1978, 52)

Washington ready to resist and just cracking on with it, once again.

For #LanternFestival here is a picture from a few years ago of Queen Heonae, who ruled Goryeo as regent for her son King Mokjong in the year 1000. I drew her at the Lantern Festival since it was a pivotal festival in her life. Set in Kaesong, North Korea. womenof1000ad.weebly.com/queen-heonae...

This thread is cathartic and also has some reasonable action points for next time I'm frothing in rage trying to find what to actually ask for. I've been more polite than this on the phone (I'm still me) but calling every single morning to remind them that this is where we are now.

Interesting that we're expected to accept and respect the change of name of a body of water... but we don't have to if it's an actual human being 🤔

Book friends are always there for you.

Anyway gender has always been flexible, even at places and periods with strict rules about it. Because conformity to arbitrary gender aspects is not a naturally-occuring thing, humans are complicated, and society has always loved to play with its own boundaries.

Ngl trying to focus on work while watching a coup attempt happen back home is proving difficult. But I will sit here doing my genderfluidity research powered by rage and spite.
