New preprint from the lab: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... This was led by former Bachelor student Débora Elizarrarás and postdoc César Carranza. Here we wanted to study structural brain changes in opiod self-administration. Specifically if there was a link between MRI volume and neuroinflamation.

www.nature.com/articles/s41... awesome new work out today! From the Lee lab in the intramural research program at NIMH!

Here are some cool animations I made a couple years ago for teaching DAG-based causal inference Confounding!

Nice episode of @ohbmofficial.bsky.social Neurosalience podcast. open.spotify.com/episode/5vkr.... Funny when @fmri-today.bsky.social mentioned edge time series, Vesa said "ah, the CAPS", which in turn are rbetas www.frontiersin.org/journals/phy.... We can't help finding new names for the same stuff

Maybe slightly odd timing, but we'd like to announce: A new AFNI Bootcamp for FMRI/MRI, Jan 29-31, 2025. This part will focus on group analysis, statistics, surface analyses, results reporting and more. This event will be virtual. Please see here: discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov/t/afni-bootc...

💰 Publish with Ease, Pay Less 💰 📚 At Aperture Neuro, we believe in making quality research accessible to everyone. That's why we keep our publishing costs low, without compromising on the peer review process. 📝 Submit your work today: apertureneuro.org/for-authors @ohbmofficial.bsky.social

Other folks having website issues with OHBM abstract submission?

Cool project on fundamental imaging properties for neonates.

#MRITogether Day 2 (2/2) program is also full of excellent speakers, including my new supervisor @martinhebart.bsky.social 😆 Please join us in this free, fantastic event! Even if it is just to attend a session, make sure you register to access our webinar: mritogether.esmrmb.org/24m/registra...

The NIMH Office of Fellowship Training is launching the new NIMH Cohort Program for Advancing Scientific Excellence (CPASE) for prospective postbaccalaureate fellows! Apply between October 1, 2024 - January 13, 2025. Learn more and apply: go.nih.gov/c07YNAj

It's hard to sum up the amount of work that has gone into afni_proc.py since 2006, via Rick Reynolds, @bobcoxauthor.bsky.social , @gangchen6.bsky.social & many others. But its goal is simple: to help neuroimagers process+understand+check FMRI data. Hope these examples & descriptions are useful.

Have data with a bunch of covariates. Does it matter which you include? (Hint: yes!) How do you know what to include? @gangchen6.bsky.social and Zhengchen Cai lead us into the realm of causal inference modeling, with a handy guideline list. I hope this becomes a bigger topic in the field!

🧠 Come work with us! In addition to our postdoc position on modelling, our lab at @institutpasteur.bsky.social we also seek a postdoc to help us create the most complete open atlas of brain folding development! This is part of our ERC Synergy project Unfold (unfold-lab.github.io). Join us! (1/10)

We are looking for a postdoc to join our team! If you're interested in NHP, chemogenetics, and/or Parkinson's, we'd love to hear from you.

Hello new followers! We have positions available in my lab for one postdoc and 2-3 postbacs to start over the next year and lead studies on pain & emotion using high field MRI. Join us! www.nccih.nih.gov/about/jobs/p...

New layer-fMRI manuscript focusing on Fuzzy Ripple artifacts. Arguably the biggest challenge in layer-fMRI acquisition. Every layer-fMRI dataset has them, they limit resolution and TR, and we shows how to mitigate them. doi.org/10.1101/2024... #Layer_fMRI_Artifact_of_the_Week
