Start my new lab based role on Monday. 6 month contract. You'd think I'd be less anxious but if I am not made permanent, I will be back to square one in August. I really hope the chemical industry in the UK picks up again soon!

I have officially left teaching! I am free! Down side is I have to move out of my house temporarily for a job down south for 6 months in the hope the job market where I live picks up and I can move back home. So... Streams will be EVEN rarer going forwards.

I don't know how teachers do this for years... Three weeks into the new term and I have applied to 100 jobs just to escape teaching forever. I know the training year is supposed to be hard but I don't think I should stay in a job I hate.

I always wonder why I wasted my time getting a chemistry degree then wasting even more time getting a PhD when I can no longer get a job in the field. The stress of being jobless for almost a year is killing me. Teacher training is awful. I hate it but I have no other option left.

Catholic school I'm teacher training at don't want me back. I was gonna quit anyway. They got there first. Hour long meeting with the training provider to find another school to train in. Might quit teaching and go back to the lab. Haven't made my mind up yet.

That penalty is too harsh for Lando. They left it too long to yellow flag and safety car the race... a puncture at 200 mph is dangerous. 5 second penalty would have been sufficient. A 10 second stop and go penalty is... excessive. Oh how I want to he a fly on the wall at the GPDA meeting.
