Spotted looking toward Cheyenne just now.

#TornadoTuesday. A recent one from Sunday in the Sandhills of NE.

#iawx gave me some neat things today. While I didn't see a tornado today, I saw many great areas of rotation, some decent structure, and some awesome Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds that were pretty defined. Feels good to have wheels again finally and be back out and about with the skies

First survey is in for yesterday's tornadoes. Recorded at 1.25 miles wide, making it the largest recorded in the WFO's history.

The Cherry County supercell was a boss last night in north Nebraska. Chock full of constant lightning to help pick out monsters lurking in its depths. The trip from SW TX was a real grind & I missed a bunch of prior tornadoes, but did manage this one well after dark south of Kilgore. #stormchasing

Sandhills wedge Ashby, Nebraska

An impressive, tornadic supercell erupting in Nebraska last night.

Given the size of the video exceeds the Bluesky file size capacity, a longer length video of the wedge tornado in the Sandhills of Nebraska last night can be found at this link. www.facebook.com/share/v/16CH...

Some photos of the initial approach to the Sandhills supercell and its first tornado yesterday evening.

Short video clip of the Sandhills wedge, which was appropriately accompanied by golfball hail. I’ll post SLR stuff and potentially other video tomorrow.

Watching the evolution of this mesocyclone has been absolutely fascinating.

The new 12z MPAS isn’t as pessimistic on dry line supercell initiation as HRRR. Currently targeting NW KS to SW NE due to proximity to home though I like TX PH slightly better.

First storm chase of 2025 complete! I targeted Oakley Kansas, and within an hour, had a tornado warned supercell only 6 miles away. Perfect targeting! The rest of the chase was only okay. I was on the north side of the remaining storms and I didn't feel like losing my windshield punching through.

One particularly poignant but worthwhile radio story on Hoisington was done by This American Life: www.thisamericanlife.org/186/prom/act...

this whole administration is like when they shut off the containment unit in ‘ghostbusters’

No tornadoes and motherships in Erie, CO tonight, but we do have thundersnow.
