Watching Pride & Prejudice 1995 and have the strangest urge to take a long walk

My coworker brought me a patch from her trip and I put it on my jacket immediately! Support your local girl gang, perfect next to my harpy

Coworker and I just sent the same post to each other within one minute #driftcompatible

Really feeling that gap between "I must not fall into ignorance of the situation" and "I must not fall into despair."

The world is burning down but I keep darning the holes in my sheets

And as a corollary, it would be really nice if reviewers didn’t keep calling adult books written by women YA. I lost count of the times NETTLE & BONE got described as YA. The heroine is THIRTY. I wrote it for adults! It is fine if teens want to read it, but it’s not YA and that is FINE.

LAST CHRISTMAS GIFT was this book for my brother! He's been asking me to bind it for him for ages, but I had to build confidence before I tackled it (and like the one for my SIL it has too-tight hinges, and the vinyl got off-center on the cover but it's fiiiiiiine it's fine just don't look closely)

Things I made! I FINALLY gave my last two Christmas gifts, and one was this fanbinding of Black Fortunes by herald_of_dreams

I’m a genius?? I’m never going to lose one of these stupid tiny glue lids ever again

the way my soul longs for a little free library made to look like a Baba Yaga hut

Renaissance revival dress, Gustave Beer, 1895, Vienna. I don't really know what makes it a Renaissance revival style. But I do know that the thick bouclé cloth is absolutely gorgeous - I really love it. From the Kyoto Costume Institute. #fashionhistory #dresshistory #ootd

If this pattern looks familiar, mute and block They’re stealing your valuable time and they have no right to your attention

Lovely story

I’m not kidding: those who delegate all their writing, thinking and creative expression to machines are going to wake up one day and discover that they can no longer write or think. You need to make your own art. You need to keep your brain working. You need to stay human.

Reposting because there are more new people:

Not quite doomscrolling, but sometimes I fall into numbscrolling, where there is so much good, bad, curious, important, and frivolous all mixed together that my brain can't process any of it. That's when it's time to stop and read a book, I think.

I probably don't even need to say this, BUT. Me not posting about every nightmarish thing is not because I am not internally (or externally!) screaming multiple times per day, i just figure you heard about it from 100 other people posting about each new nightmare. I assure you, my soul is cracking.

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice was published 212 years ago today on 28th January, 1813. #PrideAndPrejudiceDay #JaneAusten250

There should be a staging of Hamlet set in the Star Wars universe. Hamlet’s father is a Force ghost, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are droids, lightsaber battle??

This is true! They give you a "discount" for driving traffic directly to your shop vs being found organically by folks searching! 99% of my sales are direct links I posted somewhere. 😂

Described how emotional and thin-skinned I’ve been feeling recently as ‘the last act of an onion burlesque’

more Things I Made: I formatted, printed and handbound a copy of The Mark of Zorro!

You do not have to consume every single tiny piece of bad news in order to be a good person. It’s ok to miss things. Traumatizing yourself isn’t the same as activism. Bearing witness to the point that you’re paralyzed with fear and horror and fury isn’t going to help us get through this.
