This is where Trump illegally sent #KilmarAbregoGarcia. In our name. We should all be outraged. H/T Steven Donzinger: www.instagram.com/p/DIckqx4t3-...

He’s threatening the free press. He wants to ship Americans to foreign prisons. He’s using executive orders to go after ex-staff who dare to speak out. He’s ignoring the Supreme Court. This isn’t politics. This is authoritarianism in real time. Wake up.

The Doge effect. You see first you screw things up so bad that they don't work. Then you complain that the system doesn't work then you replace it with something private that cost more and pays out less. v.redd.it/6k9q8fbwo3ve1

ICE has just sent an innocent 19-year old young man named Merwil Gutiérrez to El Salvador to die in the same concentration camp. He wasn’t even their target, and they kidnapped him anyway. Jesus Christ, people. Wake up.

I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you. The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

This is something we can all do.👇🏼 File a complaint with the FL and DC Bar to have Pam Bondi disbarred for not complying with the 9-0 Supreme Court ruling to return Mr. Garcia from El Salvador.

Trump’s policies could cost the U.S. economy $90 billion this year in lost tourism and export revenue. Many foreign visitors are avoiding the U.S. over concerns about increased hostility at the border, including reports about European tourists being detained for weeks in U.S. immigration centers.

One thing giving God hope is the large number of people advocating for Kilmar Abrego Garcia and all the innocent men abducted and thrown in that foreign prison.

If Karoline Leavitt or anyone in this administration has receipts showing that Mr. Garcia is a member of MS-13, or engaged in human trafficking, they’d be presenting them in a power point presentation every single day.

Dear universities and law firms, You can't "buy Trump off." If you do what he asks, he'll think he owns you and he'll demand more and more. You'll never be done with him. Appeasement is surrender. Resist. Sincerely, Mark

For the handful of us who still view the Constitution as a governing document

If the Trump regime brought Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to Maryland, it could hold a hearing and probably kick him out of the country. But Trump wants more than that. He wants the right to kidnap people and ship them to foreign hellholes without due process. That’s the “principle” he’s fighting for.

Now is the last moment to act before we tip over and drown into the abyss of fascism. Now is the time to put everything on the line. Whatever it takes. #freeKilmar

🚨Attention Members of the DC Bar🚨 Ballots went out today for key positions in the DC bar. Please vote for: Diane Seltzer for President Amanda Molina for Treasurer Note: Seltzer is running against Pam Bondi's brother. Get your ballot and vote ASAP.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia lived in Maryland with his wife and their three children, and has never been charged with any crime. The Department of Homeland Security issued him a work permit, and he joined a union, working full time as a sheet metal apprentice.

I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

When Andrew Tate was charged with rape and human trafficking, Trump intervened to fly him back to the US. When a working-class father of a disabled 5-year-old child was wrongfully deported and charged with NO crime, Trump refuses to lift a finger.

Let’s be clear. When the President defies the Supreme Court, it is the role of Congress to remove him from office. Full stop.

The DOJ lawyer who made the mistake of answering the court's questions about Abrego-Garcia candidly (eg yes he was mistakenly deported, a fact the Administration already has acknowledged), which got him put on administrative leave, has now been fired, ending his 15-year DOJ career..

AOC in Bakersfield, California: "By first going after activists such as these so that they can jail them for their speech, and then they will jail the rest of us for speaking up for immigrants, for speaking up for women's rights, for speaking up against this administration in any way shape or form"

“I will not stop fighting” 💔 #KilmarAbregoGarcia

We need more of this—and more solidarity: “No government—regardless of which party is in power—should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.” - Harvard President Alan Garber www.harvard.edu/president/ne...

A convicted criminal had an innocent man criminally deported. The courts demanded that the innocent man be brought back home. The criminal criminally ignored the courts, and then said "isn't it wonderful that we're keeping criminals out of country?"

We knew exactly what this administration was going to do because it was written in Project 2025. Folks can be surprised at how quickly it has moved, but no one can act like they didn't know.

What if the fastest way to challenge human rights abuses in El Salvador’s mega prison isn’t politics—but your wallet? A strategic boycott of Salvadoran-made goods could hit hardest where it counts. Here’s how: 🧵

Career officials at the Internal Revenue Service were pressed by Trump officials and DOGE staffers to hand over access to sensitive taxpayer data to immigration agencies, but repeatedly refused, telling their new overseers that doing so would be illegal. Trump and Musk barreled ahead anyway.

Librarians pressured to remove books by LGBTQ+ writers. Librarians harrassed at work for putting LGBTQ+ stories on their shelves. This is the UK-not Hungary, not USA. It's here and now. What can you do? Invite LGBTQ+ writers to your schools and libraries. www.theguardian.com/books/2025/a...

Trump has already cost our economy billions in tourism revenue. I am so embarrassed to live in a country that could elect this man. I gifted this article so you can see the charts and see how severely Trump has hurt our economy already. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

The case of a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported to a brutal prison in El Salvador is a test for the limits of presidential power — and the rule of law. Listen to "The Daily."

Oh dear you’re going to want to read this. Looks like DOGErs were caught exfiltrating NLRB data, likely on unions, for private (seemingly Elony) use. This is must read. What we’ve all suspected. But now details. www.npr.org/2025/04/15/n...

Churches/Pastors, If you won’t speak up on behalf of the least of these, if you aren’t willing to leverage your pulpits in the cause of the imprisoned—just what in the hot-and-humid hell are you opening your doors for? johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/if-your-ch...

“The officers grabbed him and two other boys right at the entrance to [his] building. One said, ‘No, he's not the one,’ like they were looking for someone else. But the other said, ‘Take him anyway.’” So they did.

The government should not be hiding how it's spending taxpayers money. In fact, that's illegal. That's why we're suing the OMB for taking down its apportionments website.

One thing I wish people understood about authoritarianism is life often looks more or less the same. Troops aren’t marching down the street every day; people go to restaurants, have their office jobs. But everyone knows that stepping out of line, even slightly, can derail your life with no recourse

Due process denied to ANYONE will soon become due process denied to EVERYONE. it's Kilmar Abrego Garcia today, but tomorrow it might be your friend or family.

"And yeah, that means all of us, all of us, including our brother, SMART apprentice Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who we demand be returned to us and his family, now! Bring him home!" Sean McGarvey, President, North America’s Building Trades Unions

"You don't deserve due process if you're a criminal" has got to be among the least "American" arguments the government has put forward in a century

“The European Commission is issuing burner phones and basic laptops to some US-bound staff to avoid the risk of espionage, a measure traditionally reserved for trips to China.” We are now viewed as a security threat, to our once closest allies. Enraging & heartbreaking. www.ft.com/content/20d0...

Sanders: A woman is walking down the street, a car stops, and these guys — in plain clothes and masks — grab her, throw her into the car, and take off. That happened in Vermont today. That’s the kind of thing that happens in dictatorships, not in a democracy.

Guy who claims to be a master dealmaker can’t even strike a deal with one of his closest allies to secure the return of a man he mistakenly sent to prison?

It is pretty wild to think of Barack Obama sitting with someone from Central America and going “well uhhhh I think it would be a good idea to uhhhh send American citizens to your secret prisons” and the media just being like oh ok that’s dope man anyways how about TARIFFS

It is legally impossible to deport citizens. This is not deportation. Removing citizens to foreign prisons, knowing to a certainty that they will be subjected to treatment that violates the U.S. constitution, doesn’t deserve any label that connotes legal legitimacy.

The court system is a coequal branch of government. If the administration isn’t going to follow their orders it’s time to hold some senior officials in contempt.

Jeffries: One, we do need to change the law so that sitting members of congress cannot trade stock. Period. Full stop
