In the late 90s & early 2000s we in the UK received (very roughly) 80,000 asylum applications per year. Mainly people escaping Balkan wars. Today in these “unprecedented” times of “invasion” by small boat… we receive pretty much the exact same numbers. Had you been taken in? I wouldn’t blame you.
