Bruce Cockburn is a great Canadian singer-songwriter and one of my all-time favorite artists. Every album features his excellent guitar playing and his rich imagistic songs. Bruce turned 80 this week and I felt my weekly musical journey called Air-Conditioned should celebrate his great artistry. 1/2

I played throughout the South during the last half of the 80s with crazy band called Upsetting The Mothers. We played often in Athens, GA then, when the town hopping with great bands and R.E.M. were the kings of scene. This entire episode of my weekly musical journey is all R.E.M. #REM 1/2

Trump’s immigration crackdown is built on AI surveillance and disregard for due process. Couple this with the administration's support for AI weaponry, and you have a recipe for the opening scene of Terminator. I hope contemplation and then action make this an "if" instead of a "when" scenario.

I spent last week in St John’s, Newfoundland. I’ve been to the Provinces multiple times and I’m always struck by how they are such a resilient and big-hearted people. The music and artistry is deeply authentic and soulful. I’m so thankful to experience this as a guest of the East Coast Music Awards.
