I know we all hate Donald Trump and Elon Musk and everything going on with the federal government right now, but don’t think that Donald Trump and Elon Musk are the beginning and end of corruption in America. This is also America, and it was before Trump. abcnews.go.com/US/hancevill...

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris after watching @maddow.msnbc.com’s A block tonight showing Trump’s polling 1 month into his presidency and how unpopular he is:

If Trump thinks Zelenskyy is a dictator, what does he think Viktor Orban is? Asking for the free world.

For people wondering why Kathy Hochul hasn’t taken action to remove Eric Adams from office yet, here are a couple of factors to consider. I get it on the substance, but this needs to be done in a smart way that will stick. Also, politics are undoubtedly gonna factor in here.

Anyone else think #Individual1 is pulling federal funding for congestion pricing in NYC so that if Kathy Hochul ends up removing Eric Adams from office (after a hearing; I see you @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com), Trump can claim it’s political retaliation?

Now that #Individual1 has called himself a king, friendly reminder that according to the #SCOTUS, everything Trump is doing can be construed as an “official act”, and therefore he has absolute immunity for everything he’s doing right now. Thanks a lot SCOTUS.

Ok, I’ll be the one to say it: FUCK BIPARTISANSHIP. Usually the best ideas come from incorporating the most amount of perspectives, but right now the GOP doesn’t even understand how government works and is operating in bad faith. Stop fucking trying to work with them. Democrats never learn.

All of NYC when Eric Adams resigns or is removed by Kathy Hochul (neither of which is likely, unfortunately):

Friendly reminder: anytime some right-wing MAGA idiot starts pontificating about who’s on the Epstein list, just remind them of who Epstein said his best friend was. Or just bring up Alex Acosta and watch how quickly they shut the fuck up. Either one is effective, but preferably, do both.

I’m willing to bet my bottom dollar that someone is gonna use that infamous Trump quote as a defense when they shoot him in the head. For real this time, not some campaign stunt like in Butler. After all, “he who saves his country violates no law”, right?

PSA: If a judge rules in a way you disagree with, that does not make them an “activist judge”. The term “activist judge” is going the way of the term “fake news”; there’s an actual definition of it, but people use the term in the wrong way until it has no meaning at all.

I feel like taking an Amtrak to DC so I can stand outside the White House and just yell “FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON! FELON!”

Purple Rain is to the artist formerly known as Prince, as the Red Scare is to the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Why bother getting worked up over terrible Cabinet picks anymore? It’s the same script every time: we rant and rave about all the reasons why it’s a terrible pick, a confirmation hearing confirms that the nominee is woefully inept and grossly unqualified, but they ultimately get confirmed anyway.

I would like to take a moment and shoutout the great @sifill.bsky.social for continuously posting gift articles from the New York Times. She deserves her flowers for a ton of other things, but thanks to her, we get to read their sanewashing articles without giving their Trump-enabling asses a dime.

Calling it right now, but hoping I’m wrong: There will be some sort of terrorist attack on the United States sometime within the next year. Trump will try to invoke Article 5. No NATO allies will respond. And I won’t blame them. Here’s hoping I’m not one of the people that die in that attack.

In 2012, when a portion of the Affordable Care Act was being challenged as unconstitutional (again), a federal judge made Obama’s DOJ write a 3-page memo explaining why the judiciary has the power to strike down federal laws. Where’s that same energy for the Trump administration?

Why do all of Trump’s Cabinet secretaries think their job is cosplaying?

Buddy Carter clearly doesn’t know what’s in the Constitution he and his GOP ilk love to wrap themselves in. His bill gives the president authorization to negotiate to acquire Greenland, something he *already has the power to do*. See Article II, Section 2 of the US Constitution.

I miss the days when lobbyists and special interests groups tried to corrupt the government against the interests of the people from *outside* the government.

I hope every lawyer that argues a case before the Supreme Court moving forward makes the right-wing justices choke on the fact that they created a situation where POTUS has absolute immunity for official acts and the Vice President now says judges checking executive power is unconstitutional.

Proud to say that I’ve now completed 8 years of boycotting the NFL over Colin Kaepernick. No highlights, no games, no Super Bowls, nothing. Some of y’all say you stand with Colin Kaepernick, but you still watch the same league that blackballed him. Not me. #NoKaepNoNFL

Y’all remember when Elon Musk said he could end world hunger for $6 billion? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

BREAKING: Donald Trump has stripped me of a security clearance I never had. He got carried away issuing decrees about things that aren’t happening (kicking undocumented immigrants off Social Security, stripping Alvin Bragg and Letitia James of security clearances, etc.).

What #Individual1 really needs to do is find a piece of uninhabited land, take all his purebred white MAGA supporters and go start his own fucking country where he can make laws that work the way he seems to think they should work here. That’s apparently what he thinks his second term is about.

The next Kennedy Center Honors is gonna be a repeat of the MSG rally.

*taps mic again*: If you support Kanye’s music knowing damn well how damaging his views are for the black community and how he’s talking about Hitler (again), stay FAR away from me. Y’all say “but he’s a genius & makes great music”. Sorry, I love black people more than Kanye’s music. #Blacksky

Right, because this works SO well for the Supreme Court.

First target for Trump’s dumb ass “anti-Christian bias” task force. I believe someone once said that charity begins at home. So you can start with your birther wife.

One thing I have yet to see Trump claim since he’s taken office is that he’s creating jobs. Would be pretty hard for him to claim he’s a job creator when he’s spent so much of his time trying to fire people. But that won’t stop him from claiming credit for the jobs report tomorrow.

This makes absolutely no baseball sense, but somehow I’m more excited about the Mets bringing back Pete Alonso than I was about the Juan Soto signing. I don’t know if it’s just because it’s a sliver of good news in what has been a world of awful news or what, but I’ll take it. #LGM #LFGM #MetsSky

Undoubtedly, some Mets fans on here are gonna say something like “today would be a great day for the Mets to sign Pete Alonso” for the millionth time this offseason. Here’s an idea: as someone who is tired of this saga, let’s all refrain from saying that for just 1 day. Maybe that will work.

It’s actually really sad that people seem to think the entirety of the first Trump term was the pandemic and no one seems to remember any of the horrible shit he did before 2020. Maybe if people remembered how terrible a president he was pre-pandemic, we wouldn’t be in this situation now.
