Flaming Star Nebula (IC 405/Caldwell 31) with just under 2 hours of exposure. This is an emission/reflection nebula where the obvious red hydrogen light is the emission while the dull grey is the reflection from nearby stars. #Astronomy #Astrophotography #Nebula 🔭📷 Deets: app.astrobin.com/i/5aapmq

Here is another framing of #M101 #PinwheelGalaxy from shortly after the #Supernova on May 19th 2023. It’s 21 million light years away, so this actually happened before there were humans on earth.
