The running them is that they have no clue what they’re doing. And if Dems need a through line message, there it is.

They must REALLY hate Capitol Police.

So we want to make goods more expensive to create low paying jobs that manufacturer those more expensive goods that no one can afford?

Earlier today the LA Times had AI-generated counterpoints to a column from @gustavoarellano.bsky.social. His piece argued that Anaheim, the city he grew up in, should not forget its KKK past. The AI "well, actually"-ed the KKK. It has since been taken off the piece. www.latimes.com/california/s...

Either do not attend or collectively walk out.

Republicans: “We hate black people and gay people and want them out of public life” Democrats: “The important thing is to say absolutely nothing in response to that, or we’ll sound like elites”

Democratic officials have to force the issue and call republicans liars. There are far too many examples of them just outright lying for this not to be standard in any message.

Prediction: these tariffs will not go into effect, but tens of thousands of federal workers will be let go tomorrow. The media will focus on the possibility of tariffs and ignore the significant jump in unemployment.

THIS! A known liar was able to just say any and everything without political journalists calling him a liar. Political media learned nothing from the first Trump term and republican officials learned they can lie with impunity.

She did NOT serve in the Obama administration. She served in the first Trump administration.

Uncanny.

On CNN Frank Luntz says that his polling shows Dem voters are ecstatic about Trump's first month in office and the Dems need to understand that resistance is futile. They must embrace the carnage. Luntz is the man who helped Newt Gingrich initiate the precipitous decline in our political culture.

They were fucking LOVING IT. They thought Abu Ghraib was hilarious.

This is the exact attitude that explains the current situation we’re in where government is being systematically being destroyed by high school tech bros.

I love it when journalists let me know they’d be perfectly fine with me being in slavery in 1850. Or being hung from a tree in 1940. Or me not having the right to vote in 1960.

I am really outdone. The Maryland National Guard cannot celebrate Frederick Douglass, the state’s native son and perhaps the greatest American this nation ever produced, because he’s Black and his chosen birthday happened to fall during Black History Month. (Ask me why he had to choose is b-day)

Taking back money from NYC was just the beginning

This is a form of journalistic malpractice to write this article based on a poll conducted Jan 21-27 given all that’s happened since. Shame on @semafor.com

If Congressional Republicans don’t believe in Congressional authority, why are they even there? Not a single republican in the senate or house is worthy of being reelected.

I’ve even hearing from partners in local government about their inability to access federal dollars, and will gather more information over the next two weeks. This indicates the Trump administration is intent on defying the courts and HERE is the VP laying the groundwork for justifying it.

Murphy: "I continue to get reports from Connecticut that agencies there, like Head Start programs and community health centers, are actually not receiving the funding they are due. So I think there's a big question as to whether the administration actually is implementing the court order."

I know the Apartheid Clyde jokes may be unfamiliar to folks not friendly with Black Twitter but I keep finding it odd that so much of the analysis re Musk’s behavior and goals is being framed through other systems of organized kleptocracy and supremacy and not via the one he comes from

Young enough to do a little racism on social media, old enough to access the Treasury system routing $5 trillion in annual funds

lol he said he disagreed with "some." if anything, i'm just thinking about all the years spent arguing with people—some close, most not—about the role of racism in everyday life & i kinda wish i could have them all kicked in the neck at once. All that time, just for the mask to come off like this

Ohhh that’s a two on the “Susan Collins Concern Meter”

www.nytimes.com/2025/02/05/o...

I’ve lived a lot of places, on all three coasts, and I truly feel like Silicon Valley is as racist as the most racist place I’ve ever lived - and I didn’t move north of Atlanta til I was 35!

So the FBI could surveil & then assassinate a 21 year old Civil Rights leader in 1969, but is powerless to take any steps to stop--checks notes--a 19 year old who goes by the name Big Balls from defunding and defrauding a $6 Trillion economy? Do I have that right?

It's clear that we're heading towards at least one major catastrophe -- economic collapse, government failure, health crisis, maybe all of them -- and it's baffling to me that some Senate Democrats seem downright *eager* to claim their share of responsibility for the coming wreck.

If the US Attorney is serious about prosecuting people for simply posting the names of federal employees online, there's a guy with a massive platform who did this to a bunch of federal employees last November: www.cnn.com/2024/11/27/b...

A thing that bothers me, and journalists should stop allowing this, is when White House officials are quoted blindly. If you’re ok with an unelected South African billionaire who isn’t a government employee taking over the federal government you should have to put your name on it.

It is astonishing that mainstream media is covering this like it is a shruggie vibe 🤷‍♂️

Who are the consultants giving them this advice?!?! 🤦🏾‍♂️

This is a one on the “Susan Collins Concern Meter”

Would be a good time to have the ranking member of the house oversight committee sounding the alarm

Ah ok, well, glad we know now, I guess.

They’re all 70s era bond villains.

Donald Trump has outsourced all of the presidency, with the exception of punishing his enemies, to a South African billionaire. I dunno how else to say it. This is a five alarm fire. wapo.st/4jH7XYa

Trump says he has the highest standards, after putting a MTV's Real World alumnus in charge of Transportation and a Fox & Friends host in control of the Pentagon, while his nominees to lead the FBI (internet troll), HHS (celebrity science crank) and DNI (Russian stooge) flail in live hearings.

He had a Cabinet full of billionaires last time. The difference this time is the significant role of the unelected South Africa billionaire shadow president is playing. Dems should hammer that message every day.

I wish folks would stop talking about the price of eggs.

cool how Project 2025 went viral during the election, we were told Trump disavowed it and wouldn't do it, he got elected and started implementing it immediately and now we're being told "well this is what people voted for" they very explicitly did not
