‘Popular with friends’ is a really useful feature though, because it gives you a degree of evidence that 90% of what others are liking is just (way more than I’m comfortable posting with a public account) nsfw stuff + a bit of commentary, and it’s a timesink to post much else.

The one thing that Threads did manage to crack for several months was managing to surface fandoms to a really nice extent. It’s aggregated news or pictures of yourself/others on here, and that’s your lot. Back to Insta Stories it is.

The outsourcing policy of these institutions has been an unmitigated failure, coming from someone who used to work for one of them. From security to hospitality, they need to consider bringing as much as possible back in-house, if for no other reason than reputation management.
