Just thinking of the accident and the incoming federal funding cuts to agencies/entities like NOAA, FAA & the National Weather Service. The NWS in Fairbanks forecasts weather in the largest area in the US (including the area of the accident) Cuts to these agencies will eventually costs lives.

Yes, I’ve flown on this type of aircraft on this airline many times. Aviation accidents in Alaska are common. Commercial accidents less so but it happens about once a year. Reality of life in a place with few roads.
