Showing the way Www.instagram.com/akyriaz I instantly loved this Sidr tree, somewhere 70km south of Abu Dhabi! Thise branches shouted at me for star trails! The trails are highly dashed, due to so many passing clouds. #startrails #tree #astrophotography #desert #abudhabi

The docks of the Arsenale II A setting Sun, a clear afternoon sky, a chill October day, exploring the Biennale of Architecture 2021 and then..the contrast, the mirroring sea, the arcades, the industrial skyline... the Arsenale docks is a timeless monument. #venice #architecture #shadow #photography

Detail from the Louvre Abu Dhabi. A small gap between volumes with the Zayed Port at the background and beautiful vlouds. Such gaps bring light within the exhibit corridors. The volumes resemble the organic arab urbanism. #abudhabi #architecture #photography

King Fahad National Library Back to Riyadh and the beautiful KFNL: originally designed and built on 83-90 and then extended by Gerberarchitekten in 2013. Strong corner geometries that the intricate yet ethereal shading system creates. #architecture #photography #riyadh #library

It's called a heart! Www.instagram.com/akyriaz A new Sidr tree, 70km south of Abu Dhabi, and the beautiful Gum/Vela-Puppis nebula complex. Happy Valentine's day all. Canon Ra², Sigma Art 50mm f/1.4, iOptron Skyguider Pro. #astrophotography #sky #milkyway #desert #abudhabi #deepsky #tree

Reflective diamond A long exposure on the waterfront deck in front of the Royal Library of Denmark extension in Copenhagen (aka the Black Diamond), designed/built by shlarchitects in 1999. #copenhagen #photography #architecture #architecturalphotography #cph

(In)visible First light for my upgraded Ra², 100 south of Abu Dhabi. A heroic Sidr tree with the Gum nebula at the Puppis and Vela, the Big Dog and Sirius, Orion and its Barnard shield of red, Monoceros its left, Mars on top left and Canopus on low right. #astrophotography #milkyway

The planets' parade! It's not really an alignment you know. This is a 360° pano at the Rub Al Khali desert, 100km south of Abu Dhabi. On the little planet projection, the winter Milky Way makes an X with the ecliptic and the visible zodiacal light. Canon Ra, Sigma Art 14mm f/1.8 at 25sec, iso6400.

Cocoon Nebula The Cocoon nebula (IC5146 or Sharpless 2-125) is both a reflection and emission nebula, in Cygnus. The dust lane (Barnard 168) looks like a comet tail to the Cocoon! Radian61, Asi533MCpro, Asi120mini, Lacerta 130mmAA+, AM5. Integration time: 12hours 50mins #astrophotography #cocoon

Pompiers A series of towers (Heliport towers) in central Brussels, opposite the local headquarters of Brussels Fire Department, a beautiful building with late-modernist, industrial lines. #architecture #photography #brussels

The Guardian of the winter sky! Taken at Wadi Kub last January. This is an 180° Panorama. #astrophotography #nature #landscape #uae #tree

Comet hype is back. The C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan Atlas comet is now on its way back to the distant, icy edges of our solar system. Last November, its tail was decorating the milky way backdrop, as it passed from Ophiuchus to Aquila. Canon Ra, Sigma Art 50mm f/1.4 #astrophotography #comet

Nasr City, Cairo. I visited Cairo last October (as I was an invited speaker at the #wuf12 of #unhabitat), I urban-walked across Nasr City. What i love is those urban voids, those fronts and boundaries challenged by time and people. Highways, fences, bridges. Beauty in the decay.

Horsehead with a Quadrantid meteor! This is the famous Horsehead nebula (B33, IC434), the Flame nebula (NGC2024), the bright star Alnitak and others. The cherry on top is a small Quadrantid meteor, accidentally caught in one of my frames. Total integration time: 4.50hrs. #astrophotography

This is my first bluesky post. So it should be apropriate. It's my goodbye to comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan Atlas. The Rub Al Khali desert and its heroic trees were able to enjoy a true show! Venus and of course the Milky Way are also there!
