Who bets #Amazon releases the biggest sale of the year week from March 7-14? My guess is definitely certainly they will.

Is it just me or does it feel like we are back in the Grover Cleveland years again!

Dear CEOs: how do you measure the growth barriers potentially holding your organisation from its full potential? Learn more about the all new RBV Growth Barriers Survey. Learn more here www.rbvcg.com/growthbarriers

What a day when these four nations are aligned in their conviction. #international #politics

Wait a second, when did the American people ever have trust in the FBI? #patel

Who is holding JFK such that he needs to file for his release?

Latest round of layoffs at Mohawk College includes 91 faculty More than 350 positions have been eliminated across all employee groups in recent months. www.thespec.com/news/hamilto...

A lot of the news media's underdoing and the opening of defamation lawsuits against them in the US actually go back to an interesting legal case: Hulk Hogan v. Gawker. This case opened up many interesting legal and political spaces. #America #WWE #Media #Trump #Freespeech

Didn’t the #Simpsons predict all this?

www.politico.com/news/2025/02... another worrisome move in replacing such individuals with more hardcore loyalists

I get the feeling that the coming Trumpenomics is not going to go very smoothly.

I’m starting to think just as people mean different things by ‘equality’ (e.g, resources, power, treatment), we are starting to mean something different by ‘diversity’. So much of its value is being reduced to race, gender and hiring policies. But it’s that and much more!

It is really amazing how most of the sourced and cited news stories today are behind paywalls while the humbug stories are floating around free.

www.bbc.com/news/videos/... What some Canadians are saying about the tariffs (given that they indeed eventually take place, though it is a guessing game at this moment).

futurism.com/new-law-chin.... Hurting white collar interests often come with a hefty punishment (similar to pirating films etc.). You could commit assault and get less time. (Also you shouldn’t commit assault.)

The #Trump admin is really acting at a ‘blitzkrieg’ speed, and pursuing its ‘shock and awe’ plans. The underlying military tactics are hard to ignore.

Time for Canada to call in the redcoats baby!

Damn, and grew lots of facial hair too!

The Banality of Caste open.substack.com/pub/dalitame.... This is a great and thoughtful piece on caste and the banality of its evil. Fitting piece in light of this weeks Holocaust remembrance even if the example differs on the outside.

www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/p... This is also a good reminder that public servants are accountable and can be held responsible to the public they serve while private billionaires are not. He can (and definitely shouldn’t) do it but silly to think the same rules apply to public officials.

One of those sad days when scholarship on state crimes and imperialism feels painfully relevant. My article, "Economic Sanctions as State Crime: Empire, Law, and the US’ Economic Warfare in Latin America," about to come out in the BJS coincides with the US's imposition of sanctions on Colombia

www.bbc.com/news/article.... The last two sentences of this article read: "It makes exceptions only for emergency food aid and for military funding for Israel and Egypt. The leaked memo's contents have been confirmed by the BBC." This is a good reminder to always read past the headlines!

If there is ever an argument for why states need to diversify, it is sitting in plain sight of the Canada-US tariff conflict. bbc.com/news/article...

The new RBV Quarterly is now available at rbvcg.com/publications for those interested in business, strategy, and academia. I shared a short article on how CEOs can strategize with a hammer!

Broadcasting now on CBC Radio One on Ideas in the Afternoon in the context of the historically biggest take over of oligarchy of American democracy. My take on Hobbes on anxiety contextualised for American democracy on inaugation day. www.cbc.ca/radio/ideas/...

#Canada now has free universal healthcare, gun laws, and #TikTok. Not too shabby.

podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t... It will be an intense and challenging week in Chicago, no doubt

Legal Rights and Moral Rights by Matthew H. Kramer is now free to read for 4 weeks! New CUP Element. www.cambridge.org/core/element...

This new Star Wars Skeleton Crew show is actually not so bad. Surprisingly, Jude Law plays a guy who is desperate for money very well.

This piece over at 3quarksdaily is a worthwhile read and thought-provoking, taking up arguments on social constructivism and essentialism and the predicament raised. 3quarksdaily.com/3quarksdaily...

The bros on #caturday

The Cathexis of extreme democrats & republicans on social media is seriously fascinating. They spend their energy and nearly their entire day thinking and obsessing over the same person/object. It’s like someone who despises, say, Arabs (or whomever) and just thinks about us all day and night #freud

www.popmatters.com/september-12... this 2003 illustrative art game is just as relevant today as it was then. You think certain states would realize their actions are fueling the issue and not resolving it. Or maybe that is the intent.

Happy holidays to all. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and safe break

One difference between European and American football is the franchise nature of the latter. An American team can sell and move cities and keep the same name (e.g, Rams). The same could not be done with, say, Liverpool FC or Manchester City. These are anchored to the city itself.
