Happy book publication day! Writing and researching Unforgettable Sacrifice was a journey. I am forever grateful to my family and community kinskeepers who inspired the book and ensured that I narrated their past with accuracy, dignity, and respect. 1/3

Thank you so much @herberthistory.bsky.social!! Happy Black History Month to all!

OK State Rep. Ronald Stewart, a citizen of the Choctaw Nation, has introduced the "Freedmen of Oklahoma Act" bill which would push the 5 tribes to grant citizenship rights, lest they "forfeit all funds received and expended by the state for the benefit of the tribe except as may be required by law."

Curious how folks in mixed-race studies will respond to this

The DNC needs to be buying ad space and billboards to trumpet every massive thing this man does to harm the largest group of people who voted for him (poor/working class white people). Some won't care, some will. One of Democrats' key issues (there are so many) is a lack of sustained messaging.

With this 2nd book, I'm doing all the usual book things, but also trying to be better about organizing my sources. I'm beginning to feel like Sisyphus though, w/ all the sources for my 1st book. Do I just let them lie, forever disorganized, and only worry about what I need for this new manuscript?

My favorite song from one of my favorite musical acts. RIP www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts-D...

I’ve been writing a lot about Mississippi lately and… am I the only one who consciously spells out the name of this state in my head every time I write it? M-I-SS-I-SS-I-PP-I. It’s the only way I don’t misspell it 🙃

Long may Costco’s $1.50 hot dogs and support of diversity reign

Frankly, end of semester weariness and the state of, well, everything calls for binge watching something completely unhinged. I Think You Should Leave is scratching that itch for me right now.
