While I was collecting firewood, I heard the familiar crackling of trees/limbs about to fall off, usually off dead trees. Instead, 36 feet of very much alive Virginia pine cracked off the TOP of the tree, falling 40 feet and the shrapnel and impact sliced me up. Things are afoot.
