What, and I stress, the fuck

You don’t get more dad movie (on Father’s Day weekend no less) than this.

You don’t get more dad movie (on Father’s Day weekend no less) than this.

Told ya my mail day freaking ruled. All three of these films are capital-G Great. Oh, my weekend is gonna be good.

KRULL is coming to 4K! Awesome. This is me, reaching for it on the shelf.

Today's HIP POCKET column is about one of the best movies of the '70s. Yes, I'm serious. drewmcweeny.substack.com/p/the-hip-po...

Coogler juxtaposing Kurosawa and Ozu - film lovers need to take this man seriously. He is in it for eternity. Ryan Coogler will be one of our greatest filmmakers, and he’s just getting started. www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_wz...

The “print artists vs. AI” comparison that Gunn makes here re: Lex vs. Superman - nope, not a fan of that analogy.

It's going to be a great mail day, at least. I got three very highly anticipated movies coming to me.

So will Josh Gad play Barf’s son Puke? (Save your Gad snark, I like the guy.)

OH HELL YES (Now call him Bob “Lone” Starr for the full Bob trifecta)

In any rational universe, Rick Moranis returning to the screen would be the big news today and the only thing worth talking about. Wish we lived in one.

The EEPHUS DVD preorders are live on the @musicboxfilms.com / @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social The Limited Edition Blu-ray comes with a set of Adler's/Riverdogs baseball cards, including yours truly. Go get yours.

“It’s worse than I thought. A Druish Princess.”

“Prepare for Metamorphosis, Kafka!” gets a ton of points for me.

Get Lewis Pullman or we riot (not really, but c'mon, that would be awesome).

Tired of reading/commenting on this, but for the cheap seats: your article talking about how Bluesky doesn't matter does two things. 1) It means that BS does matter, and 2) proves that you're lonely, and sad, and no one wants to talk to you because you smell weird.

I told you we’d be back

Normally I'd be happy with this - stories should end. But SNW has a lot of mileage still to go in it. At least make the seasons longer, jeez. If you bowed out of TREK for whatever reason, SNW is just the balm you need to get back into it.

Bluesky is like a party; sure, you could hang around your friends, or you could walk around and meet people. You'll run across some people you won't gel with, but it's a party; you just move on. There's chips and salsa at the bar, and some beers, so get to exploring.

Maybe just me (and yes, I know there have been a thousand adaptations of this book, we live in the IP age, get used to it) but a Robert Eggers adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL with Willem Dafoe sounds awesome. Get Pattinson as Cratchit and Taylor-Joy as Christmas Past and we got ourselves a stew!

Damn weather delay keeping my NICE GUYS box from arriving today. Rough life.

Watching WALK HARD Unrated because why the hell not

They can say their echo chamber/bubble bullshit about Twitter/X vs. Bluesky, but for me, Bluesky is much more fun, especially since friends showed up.

It's the colors of the little dots that make it great

I'm reminded of WALK HARD: Dewey Cox: I don't need people around me, stifling me. So if you don't like it, there's the door. Theo: Dewey, are you saying you don't need us no more? Dewey Cox: Not unless you can open your minds... and learn to play the fucking theremin. RIP Brian Wilson.

Describe your favorite movie in the most misleading way possible. Roommate drinks his buddy's beer, and fakes his death to get out of being arrested.

I wanted to write about Brian Wilson, whose struggles resonate with me, so I wrote this. There may be more underrated music biopics out there, but, today, this is the one I hope people watch.

Been listening to PET SOUNDS at work. "God Only Knows"... how does that happen? Just effortless melody and harmony (I'm sure it wasn't effortless). Cascading singing and melody, just exquisite.

rest in peace, Harris Yulin. one of those legendary character actors.
