The whole "my country is full" nonsense is quite a lazy trope but there is no doubt that things feel fuller than ever - and the reason for that is not anything to do with net migration. It is cars. In the UK the number of cars registered is going up by 17% per year and now stands at 41.2million.

This is something that heat pumps can solve pretty well - if used with fan convectors or floor heating. Energy use and running costs are much less than for heating in UK climate www.theguardian.com/environment/...
