It's harder to sift through recent works, because the rubbish still has yet to be discarded. The great bulk of what was produced between 1875 and 1925 was tosh. Time is the most merciless critic.

This article captures a lot of my thoughts. I happily retired at 52 from being a partner in a law firm. I deretired at 55 into pension scheme trusteeship, having realised I needed to sharpen my mind on the whetstone of a new challenge. You have to be clear what you do and don't want.

On pronouns in bios: I’m currently dealing with an organisation where my assigned contacts, who I didn’t previously know, are “Chris” and “Kim”. Neither has an informative online presence. I don’t know either well enough to launch into first names. Pronouns in bios would have been extremely helpful
