23 February 1916 | A Polish Jewish woman, Ajdel Prync, was born in Włocławek. She emigrated to Belgium. She was deported to #Auschwitz on 12 August 1942 in a transport of 999 Jews from Malines / Mechelen. She did not survive.

5 February 1940 | A Hungarian Jew, Andras Sommer, was born in Zalaegerszeg. In 1944 he was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.

29 January 1923 | A Pole, Konstanty Kolasinski, was born in Łódź. In #Auschwitz from 20 June 1940. No. 800 In 1943, he was transferred to Neuengamme concentration camp. He survived the war.

Elderly camp survivors, some wearing striped scarves that recall their prison uniforms, walked to the the Death Wall, where prisoners were executed. Across Europe, officials were pausing to remember.

27 January 1921 | A Czech Jewish woman, Růžena Buschová, was born in Prague. She was deported to #Auschwitz from the Theresienstadt ghetto on 6 September 1943. She did not survive.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

The best way to commerate the 80th anniversary of the liberating of Auschwitz would have been to arrest Netanyahu there.

26 January 1937 | A Dutch Jewish girl, Esther Polak, was born in Amsterdam. She arrived at Auschwitz in a transport of 1010 Jews deported from Westerbork on 28 July 1942. She was murdered in the gas chamber after selection.

The violence against Palestinians in the West Bank is a reminder that genocide, ethnic cleansing and apartheid have not ended. We will never stop opposing the occupation of Palestine because we believe in a simple and moral truth: every human being deserves to live in freedom.

The French translation of the book “Auschwitz. A Monograph on the Human” by Auschwitz Museum Director Dr. Piotr M. A. Cywinski has been published. It is the first - on a global scale - such an in-depth attempt to read into human emotions inside the camp.

I know this is polarizing among suburban white voters but i don’t think we need to pay anybody to ram down front doors and murder teens.
