Curry last night

Margaret is excited. She spotted the new BBC HD Test Card with its teeny little logo

I see the E4 Media Planning department still doesn't monitor the output and continues to schedule 16:9 graphics that don't work on 4:3 programmes.

Tonight? For its 40th birthday? Oh yes. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🌍 📺

Happy 40th Birthday to the COW. Here's me with it and my now far too big T-shirt bought when I was almost 3 stone heavier. Blimey.

This week's Old Fools Podcast: it's as if they knew I had this photographic evidence of something they talk about. It's funny, sweary, and, er, sweary. If you fancy a good guffaw, do give it a listen.

The attention to detail of this series even went as far as the VT clocks that only a few folk would get to see. What a treat!

Ooh! How nice to switch on Con D and see this revolving.

I reckon I'd stand a good chance at beating him, though.

Another bit of Welsh TV branding we revived. It’s from the same era as the mechanical globe, brought back to life in 2011. If you were watching the news on BBC Wales tv back in the 70s or early 80s, this is what was on screen just before it 🕘📺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #WeAreTVPresentation

Two BBC guys seeking pub work in London E20 (preferably in the Queen Vic). Please contact @owainwynevans.bsky.social or me. Ahead of EastEnders’ 40th anniversary, here is our version of Simon May’s classic theme.

Another bit of BBC Wales ident revival from 2006. This one involved dusting off and re-powering the old mechanical globe, replacing a blown bulb with one from Steve’s car and getting veteran BBC Wales Announcer Geraint Jones to record his VO from the commentary booth at the Welsh Open Snooker.

World Radio Day, eh? Back in 1983 Wales Today did a report on CBC producing a freesheet that upset the local free paper. They came and filmed (yes, actual film) the new boy (me) and news chap Jon Hawkins in the North studio at West Canal Wharf recreating a news bulletin. youtu.be/UJLkv-kzCM4?...

Resurrecting a thing for tomorrow night. #TVPres #BBCWales

Nice to see the expensive electronic displays on Las Vegas Boulevard. Oh.

If you need to hear Richard Wilson say "Winkie" in court, this is especially for you.

A lovely tribute to Brian Murphy by Steve.

That's tomorrow's walk to the dentist sorted.

I found these old TV listings in the cupboard from 2 November 1982. To mark ITV’s 70th birthday this year, I try to play them.

The mind-frazzling story behind the BBC's deeply psychedelic robot-voiced Radiophonic Workshop-assisted slab of Saturday Morning mayhem, Zokko!. timworthington.org/2019/05/27/b...
