This is such a great game. Anyone who likes tactics, fresh takes on fantasy, or lovely 2D art should check it out. Nearly everyone on @remapradio.bsky.social put it as a game of the year! Play it!

Each time I work from office, I draw a tarot card and do a silly reading for my team. It's often not hard to link the mystic imagery of the cards to the complicated workings of AAA game dev

Barcelona is joining the French heroes re: today's games industry strike. We're cooking. 😍

Dear Canadians Visit #Montreal this summer It's amazing. Seriously, you'll wonder why other cities aren't more like it

I've been playing Pacific Drive and it's a great game for these long winter nights. Just the right blend of spooky, chill, and then occasionally nerve-wracking. I think this is the only combat-free Roguelike I've played? If anyone knows of anything else in that space, I'd love to hear about it.

This is something I've come to terms with as a writer. Though it does not absolve me of trying to avoid harmful stereotyping. I like to depict just and inclusive worlds! I just don't think I'm changing ours by doing it.

the difference between "we can procedurally generate narratives that adapt to the player" and "we can use chatGPT to generate narratives" is a bit like the difference between "we can use food processors and other tools to speed up making food" and "if we throw food on the floor maybe it'll be good"

One of 2024's strongest but most overlooked indie RPGs hits its lowest price ever, and it deserves a chance The magnificent Arco blends tactical combat and rewarding exploration, and has been championed by the likes of Balatro creator LocalThunk #indiegame www.pcgamesn.com/arco/steam-s...

I too need more money than expected to make shit up. However I promise to burn down fewer forests/cause fewer nuclear meltdowns to do so.

Yes, even the tactics games

Welp. I was among the folks laid off from Deck Nine Games today. I'm so very proud of the work our team did and the journey we had. And, hey, I'm looking for narrative work again. I have experience in AAA, indie, consulting, and more. I know things are tough now, but any leads are appreciated.

For any who need to hear this: the game industry can be a cruel & hard place. It's particularly bad right now. If you can't find work it's not necessarily a judgement on you. There are a lot of talented, experienced, & genuinely lovely folks who are also having trouble. You're in good company.
