A reminder that the City's Vacant Unit Tax is a form of negative option billing. If you don't declare the ownership of your home you will be taxed. This (negative option billing) is a practice banned for businesses in Canada.

Problem: ignoring current transit deficit brought about by falling ridership due to fare increases & service cuts; ignoring the $3.2 billion infrastructure deficit in our arenas, pools, community facilities etc. Best to be upfront on these challenges than to crow about what is making it worse.
