"The TVE heat pump has been tested to work in temperatures believed to be unmatched by competitors, from -57°F to +131°F." 😳

Mind blowing explanation of where AI *is* changing the world: in protein folding. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_fH...

I might have written too many books for tech? I just caught myself responding to a software developer friend bitching about work (specifically the needless complexity of the codebase): “I know platforms are trendy but I swear if you aren’t at massive scale they’re a waste of time….

I’m hoping to build out some spots for professional and natural helpers and activists to sit still, sink deep, and hold up our concerns and brave/tired hearts together. If you are interested in helping to build out a network of facilitators you are welcome to join us.

Just got to introduce my 9 year old to Tracy Chapman and Carly Simon, which made me so happy.

Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

"Overcoming the Wall of Awful" would not be what it is going to be without @alexhughescapell.bsky.social. She I are crafting an outstanding book that will make the world a brighter, more hopeful place. If you're looking for a writing partner, start with her.

The technology industry and the business world is struggling under the weight of the wrong kind of optimization. We need to put the human back in both.

Have you been asked, as a federal worker, to do something you don't want to do? But they won't put it in writing? DON'T DO IT. If they're going to punish you? MAKE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING. ALL OF IT. Document, document, document. Act confused. Be confused! Go slow. Require clarity. Lots. Document

I’ve been using @resist.bot to send emails to elected officials the past couple weeks, and aside from it being a super easy way to voice my opinion it’s really cool to watch the pace pick up. After you submit it gives a notice of how many have been sent in the last 24hrs, and it’s grown like crazy

Found out that TWENTY emails is considered a lot to politicians on an issue. TWENTY. As in, they call that getting slammed. So next time you see a request to email your rep, or call, keep that in mind. TWENTY is a lot.

I'll be in New York at a different rally, but if you're in the DC area, please consider attending this very important show of support for US Aid. We are no longer in a period of time when we can just wait for an upcoming election to course correct. It's all hands on deck right now.

Folks, this is the time for constant contact with your representatives at all levels of government, and there is no easier way to do that than @resist.bot. Consider joining with a Premium membership. #resist

people really need to take this as an antidote to doomerism. how people react genuinely changes things. it's not lol nothing matters, even if that's how it feels.

Really cannot urge you enough to call your members of Congress right now. I just talked to my very red state, Trump-supporting senator's office. Much to my surprise, they were very receptive to my feedback and seemed extremely concerned. This feels like a rare opportunity to be heard.

Just an FYI. The FDA is not allowed to announce any food recalls due to the health communications pause the current administration enacted. You can still find this information by visiting USDA the site directly. www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls

The aide who picked up when I called mentioned they'd been getting calls about this all day and my rep has taken notice. Calling our reps won't fix everything, but the increased pressure matters.

I don’t particularly love the fact that somehow, my spacey ass “what is time” self has somehow become the parental unit who has to enforce a loose schedule, and remind my kid that time is happening.

My firm is willing to represent pro bono those fired in this unlawful and vindictive purge. These dedicated civil servants were performing their jobs and upholding the rule of law.

Gentle reminder: There's no algorithm here. When you see creatives reposting their own content, please don't get a case of the icks. They're just trying to connect with different timezones.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American flying unit in the U.S. military. Altogether, 992 pilots graduated from the Tuskegee Air Field courses, and they flew 1,578 missions and 15,533 sorties, destroyed 261 enemy aircraft, and won more than 850 medals.

Reasons to alt text: 1) Accessibility is solidarity. Blind folks & others rely on screen readers & alt text makes pictures accessible. 2) Added context. Alt text gives you space to explain context for images, details that drew you to it, the construction or composition. 3) Effective muting. —>

Heads up! The @aclu.org Immigrant Rights Project has an EXCELLENT online resource available in multiple languages to walk immigrants or advocates through various scenarios of encounters with immigration officials or police. It includes contact #s for local ACLU offices. www.aclu.org/know-your-ri...

Excellent advice.
