Musk states "the fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy". Charles Darwin, who actually researched this stuff, showed it was empathy, specifically, that enabled humanity to flourish.

I’ve been regularly checking in with friends that work at these places and can confirm- the existential dread is extreme. No idea if you’ll have a job tomorrow, etc. Gutting, especially given how dedicated / important to the community they are.
