Austin Reaves's hair looks like a pickup truck on cinder blocks in overgrown grass

Again, they play hard as fuck.

Me and the homies watching Vando play defense

Not so small thing, but Luka’s defensive rebounding has been pretty critical to ending possessions especially for the small groups.

Man.

We're gonna see a lot of (justifiable) tributes to Michelle Trachtenberg's work in "Buffy," but to me, she will always be Nona F. Mecklenberg from "The Adventures of Pete & Pete," dying of embarrassment when her dad (played by Iggy Pop!) serenades her: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW-8...

Fronting, doubling and playing hard as fuck. I wrote about the Lakers ascent to the best defense in the NBA over the past 10 games despite the Anthony Davis sized void on the roster. My latest for: @lakerssbn.bsky.social www.silverscreenandroll.com/2025/2/25/24...

Local L.A. 20-something enjoys to casually smoke, drink beer and play basketball.

That was the fourth straight game the Lakers have held their opponent to 102 points or less.

"They resemble hungry coyotes as they surround their larger prey. They’re a family of hunters." Great writing @alexregla.bsky.social

Happy Twin Peaks day

I just think it was nice that Richard Kind won an award last night. My profile from August www.nytimes.com/2024/08/16/a...

Also I have a very important NBA update: I still cannot believe Luka Doncic is on the Lakers. Like, literally. I feel like I'm hallucinating every time I watch them play.

Nikola Jokic had 12 points on 2-7 shooting – the second-fewest points he’s scored and fewest shot attempts he’s had in a game this season – to go with 13 rebounds and 10 assists but 6 turnovers in the Lakers’ 123-100 win over Denver last night. 🧵 on LAL’s gameplan against Jokic: 1/

Luuuuuukaaaaa

Lakers’ two-way guys have rocked this year

The Lakers are hitting the exact shots they’ve missed in pretty much every game they’ve lost against the Nuggets in the past.

Wrote about Big Country.

Dorian Finney-Smith has now played 903 possessions with the Lakers and the team is still crushing when he's on the floor. Lineups including him: +14.8 123.3 offRTG (that would rank 2nd) 58.8% eFG% (that would rank 2nd) 108.5 defRTG (that would rank 2nd) 49.9% opp eFG% (that would rank 1st)

Zooming in, Half-court defense: 3rd best Transition defense: 3rd best

The Lakers have now played nine games without Anthony Davis pre/post-trade. They are 7-2, and in this stretch rank: 7th in offense 2nd in defense 4th in point differential (+13.2) The defense holding up has been extremely impressive.

I've been writing a series of essays for PBS on men whose style I admire. The latest is about James Baldwin, a man who knew how to sing through clothes. www.pbs.org/wnet/america...

There is important context to any number at this point given the sample (Luka's injury, new teammates, blowouts, etc) but one stat I am tracking is drives. As a team, the Lakers are averaging less since the trade (they were 27th prior). Individually, Luka has gone from 14.6 (10th most) to just 10.

The Lakers set a season-high in 3-point attempts for the second straight game, taking 51 after taking 50 in their loss to Utah. Tons of them without the ball crossing the 3PT line at all at any point during the possession

Vando/Len lineups

Hey #NBASky: I've confirmed this is indeed a legit/official @nba.com account! Now we just gotta get them to start posting...

Personal news: These days I’m looking to expand my writing, and the first step is this piece for @LakersSBN Here are some things Lakers fans need to know about Luka Doncic’s upbringing (from a euro) ✍️ Next up: the on-court aspect www.silverscreenandroll.com/2025/2/16/24...
