🚨BREAKING: North Carolina Supreme Court rejects Republican effort to disqualify more than 60,000 votes in close judicial election. However, GOP dominated court rules 4-2 that several thousand other ballots must be "cured" to be counted. Democratic candidate will continue legal fight in Fed court.

Newspapers are like: 'It's noon in the Saskatchewan Bagel & Shake when Madison Fouct catches my eye. Standing 5'11 in rollerblades, the heiress cuts a striking figure. Better known for her fiery social media output, Madison orders a glass of raw water.' For Christ's sake get to the racism.

Every married woman in the US needs to immediately revert to their maiden name. Not only does this emasculate the SAVE bill, but it also emasculates patriarchy.

What I have learned in my own life this year is that people who believe utterly evil things are more often than not completely normal. It is interesting that this evil; that surrounds and permeates us, seems to be rarely explored in popular fiction. We just have Evil: The Guy.

An interesting interview, and the scholar says "we all know Trump is going to die in office, whether its his 3rd or 4th term", and I cant think of a rejoinder. In what world can you imagine J.D Vance certifying an election that went against him? Not rhetorical btw. www.cbc.ca/listen/cbc-p...

A few years ago, there was a national panic about Antifa, created of course by the right. It was "Panic of the Month" for a while. As I said then, I will say now: I am Antifa. it means *Antifascist.* If you are not Antifa, what is wrong with you?

Somehow, the future is both going to be a dystopian techno sci-fi hellscape AND we're gonna have coal and measles and robber barons and a permanent underclass. Philip K. Dickens

one thing I think we shouldn't lose sight of: these people are stupid, their ideas are bad, they are always wrong about everything. there is no mea culpa big enough to erase the fact that they have a child's understanding of the world and their vision for the future is not worth taking seriously

When elected officials see mass protests and then immediately adjust their behavior in response, that is a good thing. That's how this should work! Celebrate Blumenthal for this. And then ask your own Dem senator what they're doing. And what Schumer is doing.

It might... and if it does, it would help secure him as a triumphant dictator. Resistance has to be built on more than his economic shitstorm, but also his moral evil. The outcome of the game when this much economic power is wielded can't easily be predicted. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

If you’re a North Carolinian, you can check whether your name or the names of anyone you know is on the list of the 65K voters whose votes may be tossed. You could have an opportunity to fix it if so. thegriffinlist.com

Wait. Just found out that the CEO of Gumroad now works at DOGE? And that he saved up loads of money 'cause he fired everyone and replaced them with AI? I'm leaving the platform as soon as I get my money. Jesus christ. tedium.co/2025/04/06/g...

I am not an economist, but I do spend a *lot* more time than the average person does in studying politics and elections. I can never once recall a time where a recession was so directly and obviously traceable to the president alone, let alone one where he CLAIMED CREDIT FOR IT.

I mostly watch animated shows, and they are being cancelled like its some kind of corporate sport. But is this happening to live action as well? Are TV shows just being killed left and right?
