HAPPENING NOW: Na'amodniks deliver a giant book of international law to Downing Street to remind Keir Starmer of the legal training he’s forgotten!

Wait I thought this man was a forensic super lawyer who was on top of the details? Either that's a lie and he's a lazy prick, or he was on top of the details and is a racist. Excited to see which one the Starmtroopers pick for the most unlucky Human Rights Lawyer in history.

Scottish Green MSPs are bringing a vote in the Scottish Parliament today to end Scottish Government funding for Israel's arms dealers. We hope all parties who claim to support human rights and international law will back our motion. 🇵🇸

I present to you David Lammy vs David Lammy, 18 days apart

Munira Mirza a right wing ghoul whose views on institutional racism is doubting that exist and the Windrush scandal victims should have had more efficient immigration enforcement. Perfect for Starmer’s Labour

What the government can’t afford: ❌Lifting children out of poverty ❌Disability benefits ❌Compensation for WASPI women ❌Winter fuel allowance What the government can afford: an extra £13.4 billion on the military. Never any money for the poor. Always enough money for war.

Maitlis here, on the News Agents, explaining to listeners that she doesn’t understand what “soft power” means. Absolutely extraordinary scenes

He's had an enormous majority for 7 months and has done absolutely nothing radical, brave or innovative. All he's done is pander to the rich and the right. Why on earth would anyone expect him to seize the day now?

Guardian Headline: Ministers scrap bad thing, what wonderful people the ministers are! We love you Liz! Body Text: Judge says bad thing is unlawful and can't be done anymore so must be scrapped. Ministers don't appeal because they'd lose.

Funny the Government position is that Trump's interventions on Ukraine are good, helpful, perhaps even laudable, but also the direct cause of a massive security crisis that requires an immediate and huge defence budget commitment and the abandonment of a decades long Labour policy on foreign aid

#EugenicsForThePoor #Labour

Since Labour took office, 10,000 more children have been plunged into poverty by the refusal to scrap the two-child benefit cap. Increasing military spending while millions of children go hungry is not a tough decision. It’s the wrong decision.

It seems the racist mantra "we should use foreign aid money to look after our own instead" has been updated to "we should use foreign aid money bomb the foreigners instead"

"Taking money from the poorest in the name of defence is both cruel and unnecessary. It’s a choice and it’s the wrong one." @elliechowns.bsky.social reacts to Keir Starmer's shocking decision to gut our international aid budget to increase defence spending.

Absolute propaganda here from the BBC, the masters. Cutting aid is a “new global reality” apparently and its not even enough. What reality is that, “fuck the poor, let’s buy guns”? I wonder how centrists are defending this latest repulsive move by Margaret Starmer.

As you walk past two boarded up shops, a Mind charity shop, a Ladbrokes and someone curled up under a duvet on your way to Greggs, be reminded: Yvette seems to know fuck all about the root causes of who really did take away our towns.

Such measures, @kateosbornemp.bsky.social, have been tried for time immemorial and have been proven to not work. It's time to address the real causes of personal and societal problems like Neoliberalism, lack of opportunity, health and social care issues etc etc.

Another inflation busting energy price rise. The government must now act. I’ve tabled a Parliamentary motion calling on Ofgem to cut the £4bn excess profits of the energy network owners instead of passing on price rises to consumers - as highlighted by @citizensadvice.bsky.social

The government has announced it will pay for more weapons and bombs by cutting support for the world's poorest people. A deplorable decision that will only create a more unstable and unequal world. What is the government doing to bring about peace?

Not happy with making life worse for children in the UK, Starmer’s Government has chosen to make the policy a worldwide one

Why bother helping those who need it when you can spend money killing people instead... www.thenational.scot/news/2496222...

In England, they treat the economy like a household budget. Only instead of food, water and heating the priority is the Bombs and Guns fund. If you speak out and say this is a bad system, a man called Paul Mason refers you to Prevent.

Been out looking for new walking shoes. tried a new brand and in one of their shoes im 8.5, another of their shoes im 9.5. Same brand! Grudgingly accept size variations across different brands, but within the same brand? How is that allowed to happen? Old man yells at cloud....

After 15 months of UK military aid to Israel during a genocide, Britain's UN ambassador laments aggressors being able to act with impunity and a world where 'might is right'. The hypocrisy between the UK's stance towards Russia and Israel is breathtaking.

redtory corruption they are literally all at it

Israeli tanks have entered the occupied West Bank for the first time in 20 years. Over 40,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced. This is ethnic cleansing & annexation. Israel must be held to account. We need a full arms embargo, & all economic & diplomatic ties severed.

'I need a platform where I can post racist bollocks without being told to fuck off' I think there are already a couple of places for that Sam.

Not insulting voters with piss poor candidates update.

LMAO this is the Guardian all over. It’s only “austerity-driven cuts” if the Tories do it, otherwise it’s just sparkling efficiency savings

Man it's actually been kind of funny looking at Starmer fanboys going "Yes, Mr.Starmer is being brave and a leader in Ukraine" only for him to immediately start folding. Would you believe, it's the same crowd who still think he'll take them back into the EU.

Things are bad, but it's heartening to watch people see right through genteel racists like Sam here even though he's using all the right plausibly deniable language.

Happy #twinpeaksday to all that celebrate

Would really love the centrists and FBPE types to look into Fry’s comments defending transphobia and his friendliness with literal fascists and white supremacists before lauding him here. He’s part of the problem, and so is your uncritical lionising of him.

how is this new, this was literally British policy in like half of Asia in the 19th century

Stephen Fry is going to be shocked, shocked I tell you, when he finds out who Stephen Fry pals around with

😂

One of the key factors behind this growth is Spain’s liberal immigration policy, which analysts agree has played a central role in driving economic prosperity.

She knows NHS Scotland is far better performing than NHS in Labour-run Wales, yet it’s her job to do NHS Scotland down, ignore its successes, exaggerate its failings, & at all times undermine hard-working NHS staff in Scotland. What a soul-destroying job even for a career politician like Baillie.

Imagine if a ‘race realist’ racist nurse would walk away from patients needing urgent care because a black doctor entered the room!… There would be OUTRAGE! Why should it be any different when ‘gender critical’ transphobes abscond from their critical job when a trans doctor is around? 🤨🤔

It upsets me that too many non-Dutch speakers take Rutger here to be a sharp Dutch mind… instead his wee analysis here ably captures exactly why we in NL currently have the most far-right people in power since we were occupied by the Nazis. He’s really played a blinder grifting off the Anglos.

It was reported this week that British special forces officers vetoed asylum for their Afghan colleagues, because those soldiers had seen them commit war crimes against civilians and might be called to testify against them in court. As far as I can see, nobody who matters even blinked.

It’s extremely wild to me how thousand of dead children, injured, orphaned, unaccounted for gets less air time than two Israel children

Labour doing a stellar job of maintaining Tory cuts on art and culture and then blaming artists for it.
