Why academia is sleepwalking into self-destruction. My editorial @brain1878.bsky.social If you agree with the sentiments please repost. It's important for all our sakes to stop the madness academic.oup.com/brain/articl...

Hugely outmanned by non-invasive methods people, I still managed to have a couple of inquisitive conversations here at #BrainStimConf and find the most interesting computation person in my life. Not too ashamed of my poster anymore:

If you're worried about vaccine availability moving forward talk to your pediatricians. While there is a routine schedule, there is flexibility. For example Gardasil is usually given at 11 but can be dosed as early as 9. MMR is given at 12 and 48 months but dose 2 can be given earlier.

My inaugural lecture of last week "Visual Cognitive Neuroscience: Exploring the fuzzy boundary between seeing and thinking" is now online: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T6Q...

I'm looking for PhD and MSc students for Fall 2025, at Mila and the Université de Montréal. Topics: machine learning for science, details in 🧵 I especially encourage applicants from under-represented groups and regions in conflict (Palestine, Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar...) See 🧵 for how to apply.

🧪 Dear scisky, please help. It's my first paper review invitation and I don't know if it's okay to give it a try. I am in final stages of my doctorate, writing up, but I am still just an MSc. The journal is quite a good one, IMO, but I imagine that some editors might be overflooded with papers, so

“Exactly! And it’s so dumb!” - me, after preferring to read a review called “To err (meiotically) is human: the genesis of human aneuploidy.”over “The origins, patterns and implications of human spontaneous mutation.” 😅

The appeal of familiar taglines never ceases to attract me to neuroscience device companies. I am not promoting this company, just sharing my amusement

www.wired.com/story/neural... Just a lil' reminder that private companies tend to lack transparency compared to academia when doing research, and now this specific company might be doing the same with its first human subject.

Чекаю на весну і товсту ракету від пана Шольца ☺️
