For Doctor Who and BBC history researchers - help needed with the life and career of Richard Croft.

Oh mate. How come I'm getting 350 year old second hand cringe

I may have a gap in my CV, but please take into consideration my impressively unbroken wordle, flaggle, worldle, flagle (different to flaggle), connections, mini crossword, spelling bee, strands, letter boxed, medium sudoku and Duolingo streaks

The reason I'm not on letterboxd is that I have been conditioned by Uber, Google etc. to see any review that gives less than five stars for a fine film as needlessly petty. "Just give them five!" "What, you want them to reach out and give you a back rub too?" I would shout, constantly

Oh my god. Just had an email about the new Bergerac from U and they spell Damien Molony's name in three different ways - all of them wrong

Reminded of a v brief moment in time: when mobiles were new and we still politely pretended not to know who was calling, as the habit of introducing yourself was so strong. So you wouldn't answer with: "Hello Mick" as that would make poor Mick feel like an idiot when he then said "Hello it's Mick"

Disgusted of Weymouth was sickened that characters in radio dramas were answering the telephone with, "Hello" in 1954.

Just found out that that french for getting something stamped (like a rubber stamp) is a "coup de tampon"

Love how all the french characters in Duolingo pronounce "DJ" in wildly different ways

This morning I am mostly thinking: "omg Sergio Castellitto was at the SAG Awards! Does that mean he'll be at the Oscars?!" #Conclave

Well George and Mildred ends with them about to shag so I suppose that's a happy ending. Try telling that to the families of their victims.

Everyone on 'Lost and Found in the Lakes' (on iPlayer) is the absolute best in the world. Have a watch if you want to see volunteers use metal detectors, diving, magnets etc, to find treasured things that people have lost www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0026l5s via @bbciplayer.bsky.social

We are well overdue a film version of Jeeves and Wooster in which all the parts are played by perfect-teethed Americans doing English accents

See also the festishisation of 'working class' artists and tropes as raw, uncompromising, angry, hyperreal -- all the things you might want to go into the arts to get away from.
