Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

Couldn’t the coup leaders be at least a little bit clever or charismatic? Do they have to be so puerile and stupid?

Why not just send them the broken lives and families of unemployed workers, doctors and scientists?

Jesus these Charlie Brown senators are dummer than a bag of hammers.

Trump dismisses Zelensky as a ‘former TV star’ with no business running a country….

Hundreds in Philly braved the freezing temps to rally for our healthcare, research, and jobs! ❄️💪 Workers & students from CCP, Drexel, UPenn, Rutgers, Temple, Jefferson, Arcadia, Rowan, Moore—alongside elected leaders & union presidents—made it clear: We won’t back down. #LaborForHigherEd

Lindsey Graham crawls out of Trump’s ass, sees his shadow, and declares 6 more weeks of fascism.

When I think about the small, mean, stupid, venal idiots fucking up life for the rest of us, I am flooded with rage. And then I hate them even more for making me feel hate so much…

In this interregnum, as the US fully transforms, we will see who emerges as appeaser, accommodationist, Vichyist. And who will risk it all to resist.

The United States of America is a fascist state.

“Gee, nice country you have there, it’d be a shame if anything happened to it.”

Idiots all the way down.

"Daddy says he owns you. Can you get me an ice cream?"

I love it when celebrity commentators decide they’ve discovered a whole new thing and write a best seller about it with zero acknowledgement of the scholars who’ve worked on the issue for years.

Americans don’t know anything about Canada. They never have. Fact is they don’t care to know. Like so many other places, Canada has never seemed significant enough to them. This, perversely, has shaped a Canadian identity organized entirely around (happily) NOT being American.

This guy is out of his mind and he is gunning to kill auto (in principle not a terrible idea) but if done this way will decimate the lives of millions on both sides of the border.

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m starting to think the only thing that kept the planes from crashing before was diversity.

Can people just get past the denial phase and get to the anger phase already? This is just batshit…

This is the 5th air accident in the US in less than 4 weeks. But I’m sure Elon, “big balls,” and crew will put a stop to it…

It’s ok to punch Nazis. Give it a listen. You won’t regret it.

Karma no longer her boyfriend.

Sorry Americans, I just can’t hang out with you anymore.

gritty has seized control of the federal government

Not to minimize what catastrophic damage is happening in science and medicine with funding, but your humanities colleagues have been in this defund and delegitimize spiral for a decade or more. We have lost tenure lines despite increased enrollment. When they attack higher ed, it’s an attack

The only hope for higher ed is the academic labor movement. Join this @higheredlabor.bsky.social call next week to plan our fight us06web.zoom.us/webinar/regi...

First they came for immigrants, trans and lgbtq people, people of colour, women, civil servants, Greenlanders, Canadians, Panamians, research scientists…

The NIH announced it will slash billions of dollars of support to universities and research centers. This is one of the biggest attacks on science we have ever seen. It could dismantle the biomedical research system, shut down clinical trials, and halt development of treatments.

higher ed is the largest employer in 10 states and in over 60% of the 100 largest cities. destruction of federal research funds is economic sabotage.
