One of my favorite things about biking for transportation is that you get to go to some beautiful places sometimes just by running an errand.

One of the people injured in the attack today on a group of Israeli hostage demonstrators in Boulder was an elderly woman who survived the holocaust: coloradosun.com/2025/06/01/b... #copolitics

Most Jews have been banging on the table for the last 19 months that this could happen. Enough is enough. Non-Jews need to clearly speak out against the blatant and growing rot of antisemitism that’s fueling despicable acts like what we saw today in Boulder.

It makes me sad that Denver is valuing aesthetics over safety. Blaming people not coming to downtown Denver on flex posts in bike lanes is so far out of touch with reality. Studies show that protected bike lanes are a net positive for businesses. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J99n...

It’s possible to have safe bike lanes that are also beautiful.

We should not accept this as "normal."

Re-upping this in light of CPR suing the Trump administration over funding. "Accountability reporting has always posed a threat to tyrants, including the tyrants in power today."

A member of the facilities team at the middle school I work at was tragically killed in a hit and run last week. He was 27. His brother is a colleague of mine and this has obviously devastated their family. Please consider supporting them during this time. gofund.me/20ab2ab5

An Australian woman legally visiting her US Army Lt. husband in Hawaii was treated like a criminal by US immigration staff. She was thrown in federal prison overnight without food, and then placed on a plane back to Australia the next day with no explanation. www.news.com.au/travel/trave...

After a week when my wife’s coworkers was killed while walking in a hit & run, choosing visuals over safety feels pretty disgusting. “the city is ditching flex posts to give that downtown area a better look and to make sure pedestrians can see into store windows from across the street.”

“Jada Webb, a high schooler who catches the bus at Howard every day to get to school, visibly cringed when she looked across Federal Blvd. “It’s a little scary. Sometimes it’s okay, but most of the time it kind of freaks me out,”“ bucketlistcommunitycafe.com/federal-blvd...

Blake Street was an amazing protected bike lane. I’m sad and angry to see the city tearing parts of it up for aesthetic reasons. It is now less safe than it used to be. Here is a video of what it uses to look like with @activetowns.bsky.social youtu.be/oUBdpYJtlBA?...

You have three days, starting today, to leave a public comment with the FDA about, say, why COVID-19 boosters should remain available to everyone and also free. "Individual consumer" is the category you most likely want (unless you are one of the other categories; if so, choose that).

Dammit, DOTI is at it again. This time removing flex posts along an arterial protected bike lane. This goes against their own Bikeway Design Manual which says posts should be every 20 feet. This department is hell bent on going backwards. Before and after pictures below.

I love this idea. This should be a national movement. Pun very much intended.

"Some National Weather Service offices, including Jackson, no longer have overnight staff from midnight to 7AM. All three Kentucky offices - Jackson, Paducah and Louisville - are short-staffed. There is no meteorologist in charge at any of the three offices..." www.kentucky.com/news/state/k...

“There’s at least five schools in Denver that have had bike buses launch in the last two years. Unlike traditional school buses operated by the district, they’re run almost entirely by parents.” #BikeBus www.rmpbs.org/blogs/outdoo...

West Colfax Avenue during the Colfax Marathon is the car free street you didn’t know you needed today. Car free streets are the best. #StreetsAreForPeople

Sun Valley Night Market kicking off under the Colfax Viaduct tonight. Live music, roller skating, food trucks, and vendors.

Today’s errands on the bike: -Grocery shopping -Taking kids to swim lessons -Hand delivering daughter’s birthday invites because she wanted to give them to her friends in person

Was in ATL this week and got to check out the Beltline Trail. It’s an incredible example of what a vibrant community space can be when you mix a trail with walkable neighborhoods, housing, along with neighborhood shops and restaurants.

Seeing older kids biking down the sidewalk on residential streets is a telltale sign that bike infrastructure isn’t comfortable enough. We need more diverters on our neighborhood bikeways so that all ages and abilities feel safe biking.

In St. Louis, seventh grader Evander Page walks or bikes to school. But he can’t count on drivers to slow down or stop for him. He and other pupils collected 1,300 signatures from drivers pledging to stop at stop signs. Rachel Lippmann of St Louis Public Radio reports. www.stlpr.org/education/20...

The Cherry Creek Trail is the crown jewell of biking infrastructure in Denver. When you build high comfort safe places to ride, people will use them.

Gotta love bike friendly Colorado 🚲❤️

The closest parking for a Rockies game is at the bike racks next to gate E. Enter off Wynkoop St and bring a couple bucks to tip the attendant Peggy. She is the best.

New bike signal at West 29th Ave and Speer is live! I like it how it gives bikes a head start and then uses a yellow caution arrow for turning drivers instead of a green arrow.

This is so cute/cool.
