I’m part of a tea towel group project weaving on a counter-balance floor loom at our guild hall. Today was my turn to start weaving my tea towel using a zig zag twill pattern. Aiming to get it finished by early next week. 10” of 36” done today. #craftsky #weaving #weavingteatowels

Working on “Log Cabin Gingham Style Scarf”- pattern by The Rogue Weaver. Love the log cabin style knots. The black yarn is bamboo and the green/aquamarine yarn is tencel, giving it a nice sheen. #craftsky #weaving #rigidheddleloom #weavinglogcabin

The embroidery company Poignet Amour in France organizes group cross-stitch animation videos, where cross-stitchers are invited to stitch one frame of the animation and hundreds of stitchers work to create the animation together. Here’s my frame! A bouncing star! #craftsky #embroidery #animation

Like how this weaving is turning out. The weft is two shades of purple 2/8 cotton. I’ll be cutting and sewing it into my first piece of woven clothing (a vest) when it’s done. #craftsky #weaving #rigidheddleloom #weavingvest

Leading weaving demonstrations on the rigid heddle loom yesterday at the Richmond Hill Maple Syrup Festival. We also had guild members demonstrating spinning, knitting, and crochet. Photo by Michelle Z.. #craftsky #weaving #spinning #richmondhillontario

I liked this activity the Potters Guild had at the Richmond Hill Maple Syrup Festival yesterday. They made a whole bunch of plaster of Paris letters spelling Canada and left them at their table with a bunch of markers for kids and adults to draw on and colour. #craftsky #canada #drawing

All set to head to the Richmond Hill Maple Syrup Festival tomorrow. I’ll be doing rigid heddle loom demos from 10 ‘til 3 at the Burr House Spinners and Weavers Guild booth. #craftsky #weaving

Really like how this warp turned out using wool/nylon yarn. Going to try to make Lois Weaver’s Origami Jacket, my first piece of clothing on the loom. Definitely a learning curve. #craftsky #weaving #rigidheddleloom

Veteran Legion 101 in Etobicoke in Toronto are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year, so they are preparing a special poppy installation for Remembrance Day in November. Our weavers guild are among the crafters crocheting poppies to use. I’ve made these so far. #craftsky # crochet #poppies

Looking back- A log cabin patterned table runner in 4/8 cotton on the rigid heddle loom. This was one of my earliest projects beyond plain weave and pick-up sticks. Log cabin is fiddily to warp, but fun to weave. #craftsky #weaving #rigidheddleloom

Finished tea towels off the rigid heddle loom. #craftsky #weaving #weavingteatowels #rigidheddleloom

Second tea towel for my sister’s new apartment. Since the first tea towel was mainly red she decided to choose turquoise as the main colour for the second tea towel. I chose to go plaid for this towel. #craftsky #weaving #rigidheddleloom

Yesterday I was the Burr House rigid heddle loom teacher, today I was back as a student! I’m part of a beginner floor loom group learning on a counter-balance floor loom. We were practising and sampling twill patterns today and will be making tea towels in the weeks to come. #craftsky #weaving

Co-teaching a beginner rigid heddle loom class yesterday for the Burr House Spinners and Weavers Guild at the Burr House in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Our five students loved their hand-woven scarves! #craftsky #weaving #rigidheddleloom #richmondhill

Starting to weave a set of cotton tea towels for my sister’s new apartment. She asked for crimson, dark green, and turquoise. #craftsky #weaving #rigidheddleloom #weavingteatowels

Finished my first overlay sampler on the rigid heddle loom- photo of both sides. Really enjoyed doing it, despite it being a slow and precise procedure. I’m going to try making a scarf later in the year. Pattern adapted from the book “Crazy Shot” by Myra Wood. #craftsky #weaving #overshotweaving

First attempt at overshot weaving on the rigid heddle loom. Pattern from the book “Crazy Shot!” by Myra Wood. #weaving #craftsky #rigidheddleloom
