It is my honor to serve the people of North Carolina, and I am committed to defending the rule of law and upholding the constitution with the utmost independence and integrity. I am so grateful for all of the people who made my investiture as an Associate Justice of the NC Supreme Court possible.

On Memorial Day, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thinking today of their families and all who serve. I will always stand up for your rights.

From @time.com: "From federal courts, the message is clear: as the district court in North Carolina put it last week, you can’t 'change the rules of the game after it had been played.'"

This week's highlight: swearing in Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs. I'm grateful to my colleague @allisonjriggs.bsky.social for her courage & determination to stand up for the voting rights of all North Carolinians. I'm eternally grateful to everyone who works to protect our #democracy.

Such a delight to join voters from NC CD 3 and CD 4 today for their district conventions (folks from the Outer Banks all the way to my home county, Chatham) to thank them for standing with me these last 6 months and why it matters so much to re-elect Justice @anitaearls.bsky.social next year!

Thank you for the honor of serving as your Supreme Court Justice.

My sweet mama ❤️ No way I would have survived the last 2.5 years without her! #happymothersday

This is a victory for North Carolina voters and the rule of law, but we must keep fighting to elect judges who will put the Constitution over party and personal ambition.

Yesterday was an incredible day, and today, I couldn't ask for a better birthday present than your community and support. Thank you for standing up to keep power in the hands of the people and for never giving up. It's my honor to to work alongside you to build a better North Carolina.

Today, more than six months after voters elected me to keep my seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court, my opponent conceded the election. Read my statement here.

Thank you @meidastouch.com for having me on to discuss the significance of yesterday's ruling for NC voters and eligible voters all across the country. I swore to uphold our Constitution, and it is my honor to stand up for our democracy. Watch here:

As I told @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social, yesterday was a decisive victory. This is a win for North Carolina voters and the rule of law, and underscores the need to elect judicial officials who uphold the Constitution above personal political ambition.

Read my statement on today's victory for North Carolina voters. Today, we won.

Today marks 6 months since voters spoke out and elected me to keep my seat - but it has also been 6 months of uncertainty and damage to faith in our electoral system. North Carolina voters deserve better, and I'm no less committed now than I was 6 months ago to fighting for every lawful vote.

Honoring my dad, my brother, and all those who serve this #MilitaryAppreciationMonth. I'm grateful for their service and will continue to stand up for their rights.

Four years ago today, I was blessed to marry the love of my life. I'm so lucky to have a partner standing firmly beside me as we fight for a better North Carolina. Always and forever, I love you, B!

I won't give up, and I won't back down. I swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, and now I'm fighting tooth and nail to protect the rights of military and overseas voters. Learn more at RiggsforOurCourts.com

It was an honor today to speak with NC voters about the importance of preserving our democracy and standing up for the rule of law. I will continue to fight for every eligible North Carolinian’s right to cast their ballot.

I'm no stranger to tough fights. I was a civil rights attorney for 14 years, protecting voters' freedoms in federal court. Now, I'm fighting for every eligible North Carolinian's right to cast their ballot and know it will count. But I can't do it alone. Support our fight here: bit.ly/3RjENkU

From @militarydotcom.bsky.social, Carrie Conley, a military spouse whose vote is threatened, was “perplexed, surprised, frustrated” to find out her lawful vote might not count. I will keep fighting for Carrie and other military and overseas voters to ensure their rights are protected.

Efforts to disenfranchise military and overseas voters in NC are toxic for our democracy. They would set a precedent that losing candidates in any election, anywhere in the US, can change the laws of an election to benefit them even after they've lost.

My dad taught me the value of integrity, service, and grit. I saw him sacrifice for our country from my early years, and now I'm fighting for all of our service members who continue to lead by example - just like he taught me.

Read our statement on Justice Riggs’ motion for a stay and injunction in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals to protect military and overseas voters ⬇️

As I told @dgraham.bsky.social, “I don’t want this fight, but since it came to me, I’m up for it.” Read more about our fight to stand up for every eligible NC voter, including military and overseas voters, here:

Before I served as a judge, I spent 14 years as a civil rights attorney, fighting to protect North Carolinians’ freedoms, including the right to vote. I never expected to be in this position, but I will keep standing up to ensure every eligible voter can make their voices heard.

We know that these voters did everything that they were told to do. And a court cannot, consistent with the federal constitution, come in and change laws after the election to disenfranchise voters.

Today, I was honored to join North Carolinian voters, including veterans and military families, to stand up against attempts to disenfranchise overseas and military voters. We will not give up and we will not be silenced.

I will always stand up to defend the rights of those who defend us.

As a proud member of military family, I will keep fighting to ensure that those serving our country overseas can make their voices heard.

Read my statement on the Supreme Court's decision to selectively disenfranchise members of the military serving our country, military families, foreign service officers, missionaries, and other NC voters who faithfully followed the rules communicated to them in the 2024 election:

Celebrating #NationalPetDay with my loyal companion, Goose, who has been by my side for 11 wonderful years.

Two recounts confirmed that North Carolina voters elected me to keep my seat in 2024. Now, over 65,000 legal votes are at risk of being thrown out - but I've spent my career fighting for the right to vote, and I won't give up. Join me at Riggsforourcourts.com

As I told @briantylercohen.bsky.social, we knew this wasn't going to be easy. The effort to cancel thousands of legal ballots and disenfranchise thousands of voters is an unprecedented threat to democracy, but North Carolinians won't back down.

Sharing an update following yesterday’s decision from the NC Court of Appeals - I am not going to back down and I am not going to stop fighting for every eligible North Carolinian’s right to vote.

I'm not just fighting for my seat -- I am fighting for the independence of our courts and for the power of people, not politicians to determine our elections. Join our fight here: bit.ly/4ja8sIW

I sat down with @briantylercohen.bsky.social to discuss our work to protect more than than 65,000 lawful votes from being thrown out -including ballots cast by deployed military members and my own parents.

Though our case was heard by the NC Court of Appeals this month, the fight to protect over 65,000 North Carolinians' lawful ballots is far from over. I’ve been fighting for my entire career to protect the right to vote, and I won’t stop now. Join me at RiggsforOurCourts.com

As the youngest female justice to ever serve on the NC Supreme Court and the only serving justice of childbearing age, I stand on the shoulders of trailblazing women from Ruth Bader Ginsburg to Pauli Murray. This #WomensHistoryMonth, let's honor their legacy by continuing to defend democracy.

I'm proud to be the daughter of a 30-year military veteran - who followed the rules and used his military ID when he went to vote this year. I'm committed to standing up for him, and the thousands of other veterans and active duty military voters, whose votes are at risk.

It is my job, as a constitutional officer here and an American who cares deeply about this country, to stand strong against attacks on an independent judiciary. And I’m ready to do it. Join our fight: secure.actblue.com/donate/justi...

Today marks 133 days since North Carolina voters elected me to the Supreme Court, a win that was affirmed by two independent recounts. I won't give up, but I need your help to continue our fight. Donate: secure.actblue.com/donate/justi...

Today we celebrate what would have been Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s 92nd birthday. She spent her life championing equality and upholding the rule of law, values I am committed to carrying forward every day. We honor her legacy and the impact she made from the bench.

When former elections leaders -- with a combined 750 years experience -- from across the state and across the political spectrum speak up, we should listen. I sworn an oath to defend the rule of law and that’s what I will continue to do. www.heraldsun.com/opinion/arti...
