hey remember when a rich ceo died then when they caught the suspect they made a circus of it like they found osama bin laden and charged him with terrorism but less than weeks ago two democrat lawmakers and their spouses were shot as literal assassination to shift control and everyone already forgot

Mark and Melissa lie peacefully at the center of our state and our hearts today. Their memorial, guarded by service dogs and men and women in uniform, casts a momentary shadow over L'Étoile du Nord as we honor their life’s work to make Minnesota shine brighter for all.

Well I’m absolutely sobbing. (This assassination needs to remain in the media, it has vanished far too fast.)

I write for students. My magazine is sold to individual teachers, schools, districts, etc. Rulings like today’s in Mahmoud v Taylor impact what I am able to say in my magazine, because we are a classroom resource. If it cannot be used freely as part of class lessons, it will not be purchased.

Here's the joint statement re: Mahmoud v Taylor from the authors and illustrators of the LGBTQ+ picture books involved. I appreciate you reading and sharing this. It was the decision we expected, but are devastated to read nonetheless. pen.org/press-releas...

At least 5 minutes of an issue planning meeting today were devoted to teaching my coworkers how to pronounce “Labubu” to varying degrees of success.

It’s so hot in NYC the ice skating rink I go to had to close this entire week because the ice melted and the rink needs to be remade. The indoor ice rink MELTED.

We love to see it, white Bronx Papi.

It’s me I’m the people who needed to know

There really is something special about what Zohran and Brad are showing the rest of the world what it still means to be a New Yorker and an American. A Jew and a Muslim modeling a politics of mutual respect, rejecting cynicism. Human decency has been taking a beating but she's not out just yet!

the lesson you should draw from the most jewish city in the world putting an israel-skeptic muslim over the top in the mayoral primary is literally the opposite of "anti-semitism is a serious threat to local jews." trust me when i tell you we understand self-interest.

I forgot good political upsets could happen???? I am thrilled to be with my best friend right now but OF ALL NIGHTS TO NOT BE PARTYING IN NYC!

Round 1, and good odds most of those Landers ranked Mamdani 2??? *Aaaaa*???

A Muslim son of immigrants might become mayor of NYC in part because he cross endorsed and supported a Jewish candidate and Black candidate, and vice versa. It's a beautiful American story for the rest of us. A nightmare for all the right people ;) It's so New York.

Tonight’s utter lack of sleep brought to you by my dad’s coughing fit and the realization that I really did not process the hyper-vigilance and anxiety I developed around my mom’s death fully.

The entire soundtrack of Road to El Dorado, naturally. (Your Song and My Strongest Suit runners up for sentimental reasons.)

So @solstrider.bsky.social just unlocked the basically-become-a-mech aspect in Hades II, which made me involuntarily ask, "So does that make this Titanfall III?" This is a terrible joke and he asked me to post it.

Trump is gonna say he did it for the Jews and you better fucking not believe him.

I’ve thought about him withdrawing from this constantly since 2018 and it makes me so furious we’re here now.

The coffee shop is playing a remix/cover of Rasputin (Russia’s Greatest Sex Machine) and I feel unreality setting in.

The repression of trans people is not, by and large, a grassroots outpouring of hatred from the American people. It's something that's been carefully planted and tended over years by a handful of media people and their pet reporters.

this is the most bullshit logic that I have ever seen and my rage CAN NOT BE CONTAINED. the supreme court does not need to be deciding WHAT MEDICAL CONDITIONS ARE TREATABLE and no one should ignore this just because this time it wasn't yours, holy shit

Things my Tuesday night tabletop character's corgi has asked if he can eat/drink: mead, beer, wine, weed, onions, grape juice, coffee. Butterscotch got the ability to talk to her and now he gets to ask for EVERYTHING he's ever wanted and... be met with no pretty consistently, for his health.
