I'm visiting family in central Wisconsin this weekend, and there's a Ukranian-owned bakery here called Just Right. We stopped in this morning and bought sweets.

This article is both exciting and heartbreaking. Exciting because Caro says he's written 951 pages of the final LBJ volume. Heartbreaking because Caro, who turns 90 this year, says he still needs to write about Vietnam...which is not a small task. #BookSky www.smithsonianmag.com/history/rifl...

House Rs just passed the budget resolution, the first step in their process to enact a bill that'd kick millions off Medicaid & cut SNAP down to just $1.60 per person per meal on avg while cutting taxes for the top 0.1% by $278k - all while increasing the debt 🧵on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT

I didn't seen many of the #BestPicture nominees, so I don't have a favorite to win. But this moment near the end of #Conclave has stayed with me. The cardinals' uncertainty. The slight breeze. The chirping of birds. The sunlight. And the sudden rush of pens on paper. Beautiful. #FilmSky #oscars

We are dealing with numerous emergency appts at once right now and would appreciate any solidarity you can send in the form of $$: 1. One patient we want to put together an abortion aftercare kit for after some horrible treatment at an ER. www.donorbox.org/support-the-fund

COVID was the first--and will probably be the only--opportunity in my life to completely overhaul our education system, which is outdated, ineffective, and often detrimental towards students AND staff. Instead, those in charge doubled down on what doesn't work. I don't know how we fix this.

Spouse and I were voters #1 and #2 in Fond du Lac, WI this morning. Brittany Kinser is a Moms for Liberty-endorsed wrecking ball and needs to be kept far away from our state’s public education system.

Today is the spring primary election in Wisconsin. For most voters, there is only one race on the ballot: the primary for State Superintendent. Two candidates (Wright, Underly) support public schools. The third (Kinser) is pro-charter schools, and received $100,000 from the Uihleins. Please #vote

If the liberal candidate wins this year, the next four State Supreme Court elections in Wisconsin (2026, 2027, 2028, 2029) will be conservative candidates defending their seats. A victory for Susan Crawford this year means a liberal majority on the court for at least 5 years. www.crawfordforwi.com

I'm my school's Forensics coach, and my kiddos are competing tonight. Just had this conversation after Round 1. STUDENT: We messed up one line. ME: That's okay, it's only one line. STUDENT: No it's not! That's the end of my entire career! Middle schoolers are so dramatic. 🙄😂 #TeacherSky

Recently, someone on here posted about a mystery novel written by A.A. Milne, creator of Winnie-the-Pooh. So I got a copy from my local library, read it, and...enjoyed it! It's not on the level of something by, say, Agatha Christie, but it's quick, fun, and built around a complex mystery. #BookSky

Call your R reps. If you have a regional accent, make the most of it. Tell them you didn't vote for CANCER and ask them what the hell they're gonna do to stop Musk and Trump. reps.fyi

Are you feeling like screaming into a pillow for 1000 years? If you have the means, the Trans Youth Emergency Project is giving direct grants to families of trans kids. southernequality.org/tyep/

Threw on some warm clothes and went on a few short hikes today across the Driftless Area. Wisconsin has some fantastic state parks...and in winter, when it's 20 degrees outside, you often get those parks all to yourself. #hiking #nature First up...Tower Hill State Park in Spring Green.

Some day, I'll stop buying books. Some day, I'll just read the books I already have. Some day, but not today. Went to a book sale in Madison. Here's my haul. #BookHaul #BookSky

My dad was tortured by the Gestapo for 4 days and thrown in a concentration camp for being in the Norwegian Resistance. Growing up, he would tell me things he learned in the Resistance. I thought, I'm never going to need this stuff. Here's some of those things #Thread

Finally saw "Flow" last night. Probably a good thing I watched it at home instead of in a theatre because I cried multiple times and was a total mess by the end. A beautiful film about kindness, solidarity, and survival. #FilmSky #MovieSky

1. Did you know that Girl Scouts has, for a long time, accepted trans girls and nonbinary scouts? Trans kids are under attack. Every year, I make a thread of trans and nonbinary girl scouts you can get your cookies from. Lets get our cookies from them this year in solidarity!

Ordered this before New Years, and it finally arrived, all 1321 pages. #BookSky

I wanted to mention it's also a good time to donate to Undue Medical Debt unduemedicaldebt.org They used to be called RIP Medical Dept, and are a 501(c)3 organization, and have a 98% rating on Charity Navigator. You can mark your donation for a specific state, or just leave it at nationwide.

Order your abortion pills. Aidaccess.org will send to all states, even Texas. The legal risks are entirely applicable to the person prescribing or mailing the pills, not the person who has the pills or has the abortion. **This may change.** *Order your pills now.* Two year shelf life.

Jumped over to Twitter tonight, where half of my timeline is people remembering Bob Uecker, and half is people remembering David Lynch. Obviously there is a lot of sadness, but it's also touching to see how both men lived genuine lives doing what they loved, and were loved in return.
