Macron lost me long ago but I have to say that this Trump visit is absolute gold.

One of my colleagues was concerned enough about travelling to the US this week to arrange a call with our group head of security to get his opinion on the risk to air safety. His view: OK at the moment but they are monitoring closely.

Bye bye airbnb (mostly a ripoff in Europe anyway). www.reuters.com/world/us/air...

From today's walk in the Pyrénées. Beautiful day for walking. Unfortunately knee problem flared up big time on the walk back to the station.

I don't want to be on ghastly x anymore but it's where a lot of my sales come from so this post is a brazen request for shares to spread the word about my work on a kinder platform that isn't run by a dangerous megalomaniac! www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Sara... #selfemployedartist #ukgifthour #shopindie

First real gardening session of the year, accompanied by a hungry and rather fearless robin.

In case any of my followers are concerned … Utterly stupid idea that would wind back a reform from the early Macron days (when he and his government did some sensible and useful stuff). French politics seems to be irredeemably broken.

Bluesky’s mute word function is so effective that I almost forgot that zuck-face existed and I can’t type his name because I will mute my own post.

30 million! Hot dog!

This is so true, and also the reason why good writers are good. In my experience, many mediocre writers have simply never understood that writing is not a linear process but an iterative one.

I have a big ask. My 9yo son is autistic and he’s been raising a betta fish he named Kevin. Yesterday He asked if he could “share a photo of Kevin with the whole world“. I don’t know if this will work, but a dad’s gotta try. Like and share if that’s your thing. Kevin says hi! 🐟👋

If you went to university 1. what was your career goal when you started? 2. what subject did you read? 3. what do you do now, professionally? 1. Didn’t have one 2. Fine art 3. Critical minerals economics 🤪

I guess it’s *possible* that Musk is ignorant of 20th century history, and/or that he was not in complete control of his faculties or his upper limbs - but this is hardly the most parsimonious explanation.

Rarely post political views, am wary of manufactured outrage. But either you think Musk is incredibly ignorant and/or off his face (both Very Bad given his position) or - it was a Nazi salute. Whether it was ‘just’ intended to ‘own the libs’ or to enthuse Trump’s base - still a Nazi salute.

My daughter is doing her mock exams for the ‘agrégation’ tomorrow. It’s a very French, very high stress, high stakes exam (4 papers in 26 hours over 4 days) that you need to pass for a career in higher education. Real exams in Feb, can’t wait for it to be over and for her stress levels to drop!

UK government excitement about AI is very similar to what's going on at my employer. AI policy driven by AI enthusiasts in tech roles (who generally have little insight into other jobs in the organisation) and senior managers with non-existent IT skills who are just keen on saving ££.
