I just saw the Hot Ones with Theo Von, which marks my first experience with both. The fact that either of these things are popular is a clear sign of how cooked we are. Zero fucking substance.

All the people acting surprised or disappointed that Tr*mp and Vance were impolite to Zelensky: US involvement in Ukraine was always a proxy war. All of our wars are for profit. Zelensky grew a bit of a spine and denied the US mineral deal. Authoritarians hate being told no. Shit is predictable.

@doseone.bsky.social and @steeltippeddove.bsky.social dropped a heater of an album earlier this year that's been in heavy rotation. #hiphop 🎧 youtu.be/gXMD7FQUWu0?...

Trumpers: Wouldn't you get tired of being called racist? Yeah, man, I would hate to be called that, that is why I read Black History and about the struggles of marginalized groups and check myself every time I have ever made a mistake. Pull yourself up from your jackboot straps and do the work.

Kendrick needs to write a dis track against America.

We need to form a whole citizens' union and just stop giving these tyrants money and acceptance. America is a failing empire grasping desperately to a failing system, harming everyone but the rich in the process. There is no reason it has to be this way.

I just heard two pastors making "Biblical" arguments for an ethno-state. So, this is all happening very quickly

#365Albums Vitalic - OK Cowboy (2005) 🎧 I've been in an electronic music mood lately, and this album is a danceable banger all the way through, creative yet accessible. #music #dance

#365Albums Niecy Blues - Exit Simulation 🎧 One of my favorite albums in recent years, Exit Simulation is an immersive ambient r&b experience that touches on personal growth, depression, and social issues with grace and beauty. #music #ambient #rnb

#365Albums Beth Gibbons - Lives Outgrown (2024) 🎧 My favorite album of 2024 is a masterpiece. Dark folk/art pop that is as mesmerizing as it is gorgeous and thoughtful. Listen to this album. #music #artpop

#365Albums Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album (1996) 🎧 Since I'm in an electronic music mood, here's an old favorite. Aphex Twin is a legend for many reasons, and this album is one of them. #music #electronica

#365Albums 100 gecs - 10,000 gecs (2023) 🎧 This is a weird future. Everything is available so readily that 100 gecs is a logical outcome of kids raised on every kind of genre. Easily my favorite electronica/punk/metal/ska/pop album with a song about a frog on it. #hyperpop #music

#365Albums Blood Incantation - Starspawn (2016) 🎧 Since I just posted Absolute Elsewhere as one of my favorite albums of 2024, here is where my love for BI started. This kicked off a years long infatuation with death metal. #deathmetal

#365Albums Joni Mitchell - Blue (1971) 🎧 This is a classic, great songwriting, mesmerizing song flow and atmosphere. #music #folk

#365Albums A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory (1991) 🎧 Tribe were such a unique and endearing voice in hip hop. They forever have my love. Bass up, vibes up, bump this. #hiphop #music

#365Albums High on Fire - Snakes For The Divine (2010) 🎧 A musician buddy asked about everyone's favorite riffs the other day. My favorite metal riff is the title track to this album. Shit goes hard. #metal #music

#365Albums Doom - Total Doom (1989) 🎧 British crust punk compilation. This is probably the crust album I listened to the most. Extra points for being the first of many punk bands I like whose entire output can be collected on a single CD. #punk #music

#365Albums Swans - The Seer (2012) The 32 minute title track came on shuffle today. It is better in context with the 2 hour album. When I first heard this album, I listened to Swans for like 2 months straight. Anything else was incapable of satisfying me. #music #swans

#365Albums Fugazi - Red Medicine (1995) 🎧 This was the first Fugazi CD I ever owned, bought used at a CD store. It has lived in my brain since my first listen. Fugazi is like comfort music for me. #music #punk

#365Albums Metallica - Master of Puppets (1986) 🎧 Generally, I don't give a fuck about Metallica, but they had their moment and got a lot of people into heavier sounds. This is my favorite album from them. #music #thrash #metal

#365Albums Low - C'Mon (2011) 🎧 A very special band. Through their slowcore sound they carried a hope for love and humanity through raw, yet bridled emotion, bolstered by the love Mimi Parker and Alan Sparhawk had for each other. I feel fortunate to have seen them live. RIP Mimi. #music #indie

#365Albums Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There (2022) 🎧 As I reflect on the best albums of 2024, here is one of the best albums of the decade, so far. This is an indie-prog masterpiece that I keep coming back to. #music #indie

#365Albums Prince - Purple Rain (1984) 🎧 Prince is good music any time of the year, but I think 1999 (the year) solidified him as New Year's Eve music, for me. Purple Rain is an essential album. "1999" (the song) is not on this album, but that doesn't matter. #music #soul #pop

#365Albums The Beatles - Revolver (1966) 🎧 I don't know what my favorite album by The Beatles is, but it could be this one. I think that catches me up for all the days missed. #music #pop #rock

#365Albums Rippikoulu - Musta Serenonia (1993) 🎧 I went through a Finnish death metal phase. This album is one of my favorites from that micro-genre. Heavy, doomy, excellent. #music #deathmetal

#365Albums Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American (2001) 🎧 Though I have always resisted it, there is a bit of an emo kid in me. This album is truly a great emo/pop punk album that deserves it's legacy. #music #emo

#365Albums D'Angelo & The Vanguard - Black Messiah (2014) 🎧 Kinda hard to believe it has been ten years since this came out, and I wish D'Angelo would show up again with another album. Black Messiah was 14 years after his previous album, Voodoo. So, I'll keep hoping. #music #soul

#365Albums Preacher Gone To Texas - Choice vs Chance (2002) 🎧 Local emotional hardcore band from the Quad Cities in the early 2000s. I don't know how many times I saw them as a teenager, but they always drew a crowd and deserved to be bigger. #music #hardcore #localscene

#365Albums Pixies - Come On Pilgrim (1987) 🎧 I burnt myself out on Pixies over the years, listening so much that I'm tired of them. This EP was my introduction to the band and is still the exception to my burnout. #music #altrock

#365Albums Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited (1965) 🎧 Where "Dylan went electric" and made an iconic folk rock album that kicked off another 3 album run of pure gold. I don't care if you don't like his voice. He is a legend despite it. #music #folk

#365Albums Cluster - Zuckerzeit (1974) 🎧 We made the right choices by letting Germans have synthesizers in the '70s. Cluster's krautrock/kosmiche music is one of many examples why. #music #krautrock

#365Albums Ministry - KE*A*H** (Psalm 69). (1992) 🎧 Ministry forever damaged my view of industrial music by going harder than anyone in the genre, at least the most popular ones. #music #industrial

#365Albums Earl Sweatshirt - Doris (2013) 🎧 Earl has the second best Odd Future debut with Doris. Dude's flow is a head trip and his lyrics are dark and brooding. Doris also introduced me to Vince Staples, so wins all around. #music #hiphop

#365Albums 3 Inches Of Blood - Advance And Vanquish (2004) 🎧 18 year old me loved this album. 39 year old me loves it just as much, but with added nostalgia. This band rips as hard as their name implies. #Music #metal #heavymetal

#365Albums Gil Scott-Heron - I'm New Here (2010) 🎧 Blues, soul, and poetry from a sadly departed voice. This album is food for your mind and soul. So inspiring that it was remade by Jamie xx AND Makaya McCraven separately. All of them are worth checking out. #music #poetry

#365Albums Day 30.2 The Decemberists - The Crane Wife (2006) 🎧 I was a theatre kid and an English major in the 2000s. It was mandatory that I loved The Decemberists. This is my favorite of their albums. #music #indie

#365Albums Day 30 Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury (2006) 🎧 Neptunes production and some of the illest bars of 2006. I will always love this album. I can't wait for the new Clipse. #music #hiphop
