Just found out one of my favourite museums has to vacate by the end of the month bc funding negotiations with the city of Cambridge fell through. If any of you have time to write to the city, please do. You don’t have to be a resident (I’m not), but letting council know your tourism dollars will

they say "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" well i don't want to be strong, i’m tired i just want to drink iced coffee, read books and eat snacks.

A pro-Russia content aggregation network is churning out at least 3 MILLION pieces of propaganda per year, all on sites that are virtually unusable by humans. So what's the goal? We explore the idea that it might be to flood LLMs with pro-Russia content: static1.squarespace.com/static/6612c... 1/

✅ Just voted! Even though it feels a bit futile looking at the polls…I truly don’t understand what other Ontarians see in Dougie. #ontariovotes

We need to all call in and tell Ian exactly what we think of his normalizing 51st state rhetoric, 🚨 PLATFORMING KEVIN O’LEARY 🚨as part of this show, and the absolute disgrace this is coming from our national broadcaster. #cbc #canadasky #cdnpoli

Cancel the Trump trademarks in Canada. Freeze Twitter and Tesla’s assets. Remove Fox News from the airwaves. Force Apple and Spotify to delist far-right podcasts pushing annexation. Refuse to accept Donald Trump’s ambassador. Expel any U.S. diplomatic staff that threaten Canadian sovereignty.

“…one of the ways you can have an impact without being overwhelmed is to get involved in local politics or issues, bc you can have a much greater impact on a local level, usually, than a national level. So rather than retweeting that most outrageous post, it’s better to get involved w/ real people.”

I wrote for Slate about how a conservative think tank plans to "identify and target" Wikipedia editors who it claims are abusing their position—a dangerous escalation that shifts the fight from debating edits to going after the editors themselves. slate.com/technology/2...

Morbidly curious what happens when financial markets realize that the decades-old bedrock concept that there exists a risk-free rate of return quantified by T-bill rates now has a big asterisk next to it.

Today is #WorldCancerDay A day to appreciate all the clinicians & researchers 🧪 who dedicate their lives to the fight against #cancer And to also reflect on what a diagnosis of cancer means - to the person, their family, and their community Every country, together against cancer 🌍 🌎 🌎 #WCD2025

stop saying trump never intended the tariffs to actually take effect you fucking idiots. he does what he does to see what he gets away with, and he gets away with exactly what we fail to sufficiently oppose. everything he does he’s serious about unless it fails

So apparently you can develop lactose intolerance during pregnancy. Ask me how I know. 🥲

Canada's """Fentanyl Czar""" should just be Rick Mercer going on CBC and talking a mile a minute at the camera about the drug war. Send US news the tape and do not clarify anything.

if you are trying to figure out the next move in Canada's trade war with the US, without factoring in the explicit threat of annexation, you are doing it wrong

It is going to be much harder to negotiate a way out of this situation because unlike with Mexico, Trump's ultimate aim for us (which he isn't even hiding at this point) is annexation. The stakes are entirely different for Canada.

Having watched with growing alarm the developments of the last 24 and 36 hours in Washington, I thought I’d take a stab at how the US media would cover this story if it was happening in a foreign country. Here’s that story that should be written this weekend: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/musk-s-jun...

“Trump took to social media to blast Canada… ‘Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country. Harsh but true!’ he wrote.” -CTV This isn’t about fentanyl or misunderstanding that trade doesn’t = subsidies. It’s a direct attack on 🇨🇦 sovereignty. #tariffs #trump #politics

Canada is ready. We will fight. I thank the Prime Minister for his powerful statement in response to the thuggish attacks by Trump. We are unified as a nation. Our American cousins are divided. We will kick at the darkness until it bleeds daylight. www.thestar.com/politics/fed...

What folks are getting a tough lesson in right now: Institutions are people. They are not abstract forces that exist as firewalls or safeguards. They are just people who play a role and who perhaps have abided by norms, but whose decisions minute to minute shape the role those institutions play.

"Russia's Wagner Group is committing crimes in Africa and expanding authoritarianism." ‼️ Africa is in danger. I have already published an investigation into how young women from Africa are being recruited by Russia to work in military factories.

Our kids will have a fighting chance… at what exactly? 😭 As someone currently pregnant with my first child, I very much want to NEVER worry about them getting shot at school, among MANY other things. #canpoli

Happy Black History Month. Thinking of an exhibit I saw in Saskatoon. It was an entire wall of letters from white settlers opposing any assignment of farmland to black families. The vileness that was presented as self-evident in the letters was breathtaking. So much of the time we as Canadians 1/

1/ Phase 1 of the tariffs are to punish Canada for imaginary problems, and the scope is unclear. Phase 2 will be country-wide tariffs coming April 1st. Why will they be country-wide?
