Randomly found these cool 3D printable probes by for the Omnifixo that use a jumper-wire as probing needle. Especially the version with the 5 cent coins as weight works great! Might have to make a version with pogo pins :) Awesome work, IsTim! makerworld.com/en/models/51...

over the last year, i've been reverse-engineering and documenting old Seagate hard drives from the 1980s. the latest one is this ST-296N from 1987, which is a SCSI drive that can store 85 megabytes.

I'm watching some folks reverse engineer the xz backdoor, sharing some *preliminary* analysis with permission. The hooked RSA_public_decrypt verifies a signature on the server's host key by a fixed Ed448 key, and then passes a payload to system(). It's RCE, not auth bypass, and gated/unreplayable.
