I voted for Harris in a swing state. Be mad at Harris for openly and actively throwing the election. There’s no reason she should’ve lost to Trump in 2024, and it’s ENTIRELY her own fault.

You can just log off. You don’t have to accuse everyone of being stalkers & swifties. You don’t even have to admit that you overreacted. Just log off and people will have more respect for you

If someone is honest about the fact that they’re not a big reader, I’m not gonna hold that against them. I dislike Gen Z booktok dipshits who pretend to read books they clearly haven’t. If anything, I admire your honesty

That is not one of the best horror movies of all time, and obviously I know it’s a Stephen King book. I have repeatedly & specifically cited that as an example of a shitty adaptation of his books.

Why would that make you a pleb?

You’re literally the one deflecting by bringing up random writers who have nothing to do with anything.
“At least I never shook hands with Robert E. Lee! Take that!” (That’s how you sound lmfao)

Okay bro. Don’t call the cops on me. You’re right. Whatever you say.

Yeah, I called you a liar AFTER you removed all doubt. Please try to keep up

JK Rowling has NOTHING to do with this

“Casting doubt” is not “literally calling someone a liar.” Asking “are you telling the truth” is not the same as saying “you’re lying”, and an honest person would understand the difference. But it’s a moot point, because you did later reveal yourself to be dishonest 🤷♂️

Now I know that you’re a liar, because the story is NOTHING like 50 Shades of Gray. Now I *am* calling you a liar, because that is an absolutely ridiculous comparison lmfao

I didn’t call you a liar. I asked you to be honest if you’ve actually read those books. It’s *really* weird to read that many books by an author you admit you don’t like

You didn’t hurt my feelings lmao. But that’s exactly the sort of thing people say when they’ve lost an internet argument

My problem with King’s critics is that 95% of them are pseudo-intellectuals who don’t actually read *anything*. They’re froth-movies that they barely remember from 1983

As for King, if he’s not your thing, he’s not your thing. But he’s got a great narrative voice, his characters are compelling & his stories strike a chord. He’s a lot more than just a cheap horror writer. Check out Hearts in Atlantis and tell me he’s not a great writer

What does Koontz have to do with anything? Absolutely nobody in this discussion mentioned him

Especially with the “bouncing boobs” thing. Like, he’s definitely not perfect. But he’s clearly at least conversed with women IRL and most fantasy/horror writers have never interacted with a woman outside of PornHub

I haven’t seen Dolores Claiborne, so I can’t comment on that one. I’ll give you Shawshank.
Obviously not *everything* he’s ever written is a masterpiece. But pretending he’s not a good writer just because his politics are dumb is the most brain-rot TikTok shit I’ve ever heard

Also, with almost all of these, the novel/story is objectively better than the movie. I know it’s a hot take that I think Kubrick’s adaptation of The Shining is horrible. But the fact that you think “Sometimes They Come Back” of all things is even halfway decent tells me that you’re not serious lmao
comment in response to

Be 1000% honest. Did you read those books, or did you skim Reddit reviews? You seem to have spent a LOT of time reading an author you don’t like. (And someone who has read *this* much of his canon wouldn’t make that generalization about women & black characters)
comment in response to
post
Okay, that one I actually like. It’s an objectively bad movie, but it’s fun in a way that most of his adaptations are not.
I just get very annoyed with people who still jack off to Stanley Kubrick in 2025 when the novel is objectively better than Kubrick’s adaptation by every conceivable metric

Aside from Carrie, name one film adaptation of his that is better than the book?

I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts that you didn’t bother voting because “eh, one vote isn’t gonna change anything and I’m feeling lazy today.” Now your guilty conscience is making you lash out at people who made a decision based on their conscience

I did a lot more than you did. The *only* thing you did is make self-righteous social media posts complaining about other people

You’re not telling the truth though. You’re being a self-aggrandizing douchebag.
(I voted for Harris, in a SWING STATE)

I voted for the sad, demoralizing choice of harm reduction at home. I understand why people didn’t vote and I don’t hold it against them.
