Someone once said NextDoor is the social network for dogs if they could type. It’s always “what’s that noise?” and “who’s that stranger?” which is exactly what I imagine my dogs would text other neighborhood dogs.

The great thing about fighting back against this stuff is that if you end up losing anyway you get the same outcome you’d have gotten from complying but you don’t have to fucking hate yourself too.

I would not have predicted that large universities would show more courage than either Big Law or corporate media. Good for them.

continue to be just dumbfounded that the fake problems election gave us the real problems presidency

@harvard.edu is modeling the way. To other academic institutions: do not comply in advance. Dictating what an accredited private university can or cannot do with hiring, admission or areas of study is unlawful and authoritarian.

Wisconsin voters take the midwestern charm to new heights when tasked with telling volunteer phone bankers to piss off lol. I love you Wisconsin - VOTE!!! #wisconsinelection #supremecourtpick #superintendentpick #wisconsin

Remember the days you could wake up with your cup of coffee and not have to call your senators? @schiff.senate.gov @padilla.senate.gov just left you both a voicemail - call me back after you vote against cloture on CR & in favor of the 1 month Murray/DeLauro clean CR instead.

@Netflix.com, you made a net income of almost $9 billion in 2024 (+61% from FY 2023). Why on earth would you not invest that responsibly in quality talent? Cancel the agreement, eat the cost of that terminated relationship & stop giving bigots a platform & a goddamn microphone. It’s not that hard.

You know what sucks? The Barbies are for sure going to have to clean this mess up when this is all said and done. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Delete Twitter/X. Do not invest in Tesla. Do not invest in SpaceX. Do not invest in make-believe government agencies. This goes for time, energy and currency.

Permanent mood.

Let’s continue to look out for one another — today, tomorrow, and in the years we have ahead.

Just watched a young woman say that being on TikTok today is like going to a bar and feeling like you need to cover your drink. And I think that says a lot. If it feels off, it probably is. Use your discernment.

We had to get in on the video action too — Bluesky now has custom feeds for video! Like any other feed, you can choose to pin these or not. Bluesky is yours to customize.

Let’s be abundantly clear: what happened with the TikTok blackout was political theatre affecting millions of Americans. Stay vigilant.

Well 2025 is here and with Monday right around the corner, it felt appropriate to bring back this gem from 2021. Credit: @zoesees.bsky.social

Everyone please remember that the United States government banned an app before automatic weapons.

This just in: Zuckerberg is [still] a sellout

"We cannot continue to participate in the social network feed of a man who proclaims the death of the media and therefore of journalists... X is a platform that no longer serves the public interest at all, but the special ideological and financial interests of its owner and his political allies"

Them: How are you coping these days? Me: I’m buying life-sized Christmas toys for my dog.

1/3: The irony here is that the entire brand makeup is about putting high-profile people in the hot seat while they grow more vulnerable with each bite. Ultimately humanizing them and making them feel more accessible and akin to every-day folks.

DEMOCRAT Derek Tran unseats and concession made by Michele Steel — CA 45th district. Dems take a House seat 🥳

Detailing the day-to-day of basic survival while highlighting the very real dehumanization of the unhoused population and the suffering that comes with it, Patrick Fealey’s firsthand account of homelessness in America is a confronting and harrowing must-read. www.esquire.com/news-politic...

For most of us, the last 2 weeks has actually felt like the longest year of our lives, right?

Remember that libraries are proof that not every goddamned thing needs to be “for profit.”

BREAKING: Derek Tran grows his lead to about 300 votes in California's 45th. Democrats are on track to flip this key Congressional seat.

Do you think he keeps his security clearance next to the audacity?

🦋 WELCOME TO BLUESKY! I recommend exploring our custom feeds, which are a little like hashtags but more interesting. We have them for academic and professional subjects, sports, cities, hobbies (e.g., gardening, baking), and many more. Search them in the sidebar under Feeds. 🧵
