We support 2,500 people affected by dementia every year. We know how our amazing staff bring happiness and empowerment, reduce isolation and restore dignity. So we're proud to be part of #ProvidersUnite day of action. It is time for change, for investment and for policy makers to #ValueSocialCare

Good luck to everyone at #ProvidersUnite march today, including our own senior manager Monique Bentley. Social care matters - it brings joy, security and comfort to the most vulnerable, but Government actions are putting our sector at risk. Social care is a right not a privilege! #WeValueSocialCare

If you are interested in dementia and the thoughts, concerns and rights of people living with dementia please follow @innov-dementia.bsky.social - wonderful resource and place to share 😊

More creativity from members of our art group in Chippenham 👏🎨

Sobering reading from @dementiacarers.bsky.social A national strategy for unpaid carers, including routine contingency planning, is so urgently needed.

We are very pleased to be able to announce that our next training programme will run over four Wednesdays starting on 5th March 2025 and ending 26th March 2025. The four sessions will run between 11:00 – 13:30GMT with a short comfort break.

Our latest #intergenerational partnership kicked off with a skittles match between #OldSilkWorks members and the Year 6s from Princecroft primary who will visit the club each week. Fab to see the generations connecting!

We recruiting a full-time Carer Coordinator to work with unpaid carers of people with #dementia in #Wiltshire. It's an exciting new role within the Carers Together Wiltshire partnership, helping carers to access services, support and advice. Apply or find out more at bit.ly/4jiowcE

Huge thanks to everyone who has donated so far - it means a lot to have your support and every gift has twice the impact so even more valuable to our work. Double donations are live until Christmas Eve!!

'I love going to #ScotsLane. It’s a break from the boredom of home, a joyful place where I meet new people, a new bunch of friends given to you.' Derek on how the #Salisbury day club has made life easier for him and his wife Monica. #dementia #community www.carechoices.co.uk/blog/dementi...

Expressing concerns on BBC over the increased National Insurance costs coming for charities delivering vital public services for disabled people. Need: - fair pay for social care - Government fully funding services - fundamental review of adult social care funding www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It's absolutely the right decision, but we're so disappointed Bath Christmas Market is called off tomorrow due to #StormDarragh. We had the charity chalet for one day only, to sell gifts handmade by volunteers to raise essential funds. Now what to do? Few pics of past years to cheer us up!

Dogs are a daily presence in our day clubs in Wiltshire, but it's not often we are visited by a donkey. Needless to say, a hit! Huge thanks to Kelly's Donkeys and dear, patient Dermot 💕 #animalassistedactivities #dementiacare #OldSilkWorks

Welcome to ReMind UK, an independent charity delivering expert diagnosis, research and support for people affected by dementia. We rely on fundraising and are thrilled that, thanks to the generosity of our charity partners, donations will be doubled this month! Any gifts will have twice the impact this #Christmas so please support us if you can🙏🎅 bit.ly/4givCeG #dementia #Christmasappeal #doubledonations

Congratulations to Phil Horton and Susan Dixon, who have each clocked up 20 years as support workers. Thank you for making life richer for people affected by dementia, for always seeing the person first and for continuing to be be such an important part of our team 💙

Coming up at 9.45, our BBC Radio 4 show is being repeated this month. Dementia: Unexpected Stories of the Mind is a five-part series about rare dementias. Extraordinary interviewees, remarkable stories. #frontotemporaldementia #dementia #neurology @alzheimerssoc.bsky.social

Members of our Memory Shed were commissioned by Corsham Town Council to make bird and bat boxes, with extras to sell for funds at Bath Christmas market. Fab example of a proactive local council working with us to help retain skills, build friendships, support nature and do some good 😊

We're on the BBC explaining what the autumn budget means for our #dementia #charity in #Wiltshire. BBC News - Wiltshire charity 'will cost £200k more to run' after Budget - BBC News www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Sobering read from @nuffieldtrust.bsky.social - and the threat is real. Our relatively small charity provides #dementia #socialcare in the community and faces £200k cost increase after the #autumn #budget. And some difficult choices...

Our CEO Sarah Marriott and some of our family carers are on BBC Wiltshire this morning to talk about how the #AutumnBudget is costing our charity £200,000. And calling for a re-think! @nuffieldtrust.bsky.social @peterstefanovic.bsky.social @sarahdykeld.bsky.social bit.ly/3Zfny96 #careaboutcare

Tough interview but we have a new therapy dog for #MillSt Club. Welcome to the team Bella!

Colin used to be a gigging musician but hasn't played much since his #dementia diagnosis. Until Bath Spa University student Ali brought his guitar into #MillSt club. Ali, who hopes to become a music therapist, is joining the club on placement in the new year - it's going to be a great partnership 🎶

We're joining the call for exemptions to employer NI increases. Our charity provides essential social care and is facing a £200k rise in costs after the #AutumnBudget. 👉More about how we are affected bit.ly/48IwsyY 👉Sign the petition! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70... #careaboutcare

Did we mention we also have dogs! Here's gentle Mabel spreading the love, sparking conversation and generally getting herself in the centre of every interaction at our Devizes day club.

Very pleased to be here, to talk about dementia, the importance of good support and how we empower people to live as well as they can with all types of #dementia in #Wiltshire. If you live at home with dementia in Wiltshire, we're here for you 💙
