"Separate the art from the artist" comes up a lot. My opinion is that, like so many things, it is on a spectrum. A long-dead entertainer with a brilliant body of work who, we later discovered, kicked puppies is NOT the same as a living, active entertainer who uses revenue to buy puppies to kick.

Straight out of college, I spent a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA. I worked in a youth psychiatric hospital to assist their fundraising team and handle volunteer activities. I got paid $10k a year and a $5k educational grant. An absolute steal for them, but the best thing I ever did.
